Ridge Rider Posted May 4, 2013 Posted May 4, 2013 (edited) The price is ridiculous, but I want one. Wish it were in styrene. http://www.foxnews.com/leisure/2013/05/03/quick-spin-icon-dodge-d200-power-wagon/?intcmp=features Edited May 4, 2013 by Ridge Rider
martinfan5 Posted May 4, 2013 Posted May 4, 2013 Thats a bit much, still kind of cool, but still , a bit much , ok, alot of being a bit much
TheRX7Project Posted May 4, 2013 Posted May 4, 2013 I don't know why it cost $300k... I mean a new Dodge pickup can be had for say $50k, an old Power Wagon, we'll be generous and say $20k for a REALLY NICE one... I'll even say $30k for labor and upgrades... where's the other $200k coming from?
Quick GMC Posted May 4, 2013 Posted May 4, 2013 I'm sorry, that guy got ripped off. Nothing there is worth $300k
bbowser Posted May 4, 2013 Posted May 4, 2013 (edited) Some people just have too much disposable income. Cool truck though! Edited May 4, 2013 by bbowser
jas1957 Posted May 4, 2013 Posted May 4, 2013 Pretty cool, but if that guy has that much money to throw around I got a kid starting college in August. He can throw some my way.
Modlbldr Posted May 4, 2013 Posted May 4, 2013 The reporter says that ICON is more than happy to bring a customer's dream to life. For the $300k, I would think so.....I'd be willing to bring an idiot's dreams to life for that price too. Just further proof that in this world there are those that have more dollars than sense... Later-
MachinistMark Posted May 4, 2013 Posted May 4, 2013 the engine overhaul at banks alone likely cost upwards of 30k. plush the dodge 3500, plus the d200 plus icons labour the custom interior jl audio stereo the suspension wheel and tire upgrade the driveline upgrade to handle the new power honestly 300k while not a "steal" Entirely reasonable for the work that went into it.
Harry P. Posted May 4, 2013 Posted May 4, 2013 honestly 300k while not a "steal" Entirely reasonable for the work that went into it. Maybe reasonable for the amount of work that went into it, but not a very reasonable price to pay for a pickup truck! If I had a spare 300K laying around, I'd invest it in real estate, not some fancy one-off custom car/truck/whatever. Selling prices are down, it's a great time to invest in property. Of course, a truck like this could become a valuable collector's item. You never know.
lordairgtar Posted May 4, 2013 Posted May 4, 2013 I wonder what the body restoration alone cost. I could do this for you at about $200,000.
slantasaurus Posted May 5, 2013 Posted May 5, 2013 This looks like the same truck that was on Chacing Classic Cars on Velocity channel about a year and a half ago. Wayne Carrini put it up for auction for the owner and couldn't get 30-40K for it, the owner had something like 60-80K into it.
Tom Geiger Posted May 5, 2013 Posted May 5, 2013 (edited) This looks like the same truck that was on Chacing Classic Cars on Velocity channel about a year and a half ago. Wayne Carrini put it up for auction for the owner and couldn't get 30-40K for it, the owner had something like 60-80K into it. Not the same truck. I remember that show and thinking that I would have paid the 30K for that truck! I agree that the price of this truck is waaaay out there, but the owner hired a company to build his vision, and that costs money. Reading the article he's not concerned about getting his money back. His money, he's happy. So be it. Edited May 5, 2013 by Tom Geiger
