smellyfatdude Posted May 9, 2013 Posted May 9, 2013 I finished this one last year, after having let it sit half done in the box for a good couple of years. I intended to replicate the real one I owned, but decided at some point to paint this one metallic black, instead of orange like my old 1:1. Everything else is as my real car was, from the b & w interior, to the 360 2V single exhaust under the hood, and the Cragar SS rims and fat tires. This has to be one of the worst fitting AMT kits I've ever built!
Lunajammer Posted May 9, 2013 Posted May 9, 2013 This has to be one of the worst fitting AMT kits I've ever built! And yet, even a sow's ear can be a silk purse in the right hands. Nice work.
Porscheman Posted May 9, 2013 Posted May 9, 2013 Nice job!!! I have 4 of these and all of them are warpped.
W-Machine Posted May 9, 2013 Posted May 9, 2013 You really made a "Matadork" look good, SFD. I like it. One of these days, I'm gonna build mine to replicate my mother-in-law's '75.
Lovefordgalaxie Posted May 9, 2013 Posted May 9, 2013 Super nice!! Loved the Cragars, and the paint job.
TheRX7Project Posted May 9, 2013 Posted May 9, 2013 Looks really good. I'd love to get my hands on another of these kits- for a builder's price!
realgone58 Posted May 10, 2013 Posted May 10, 2013 Yes, they are awful to fit together, but you made it look fantastic!
Guest Posted May 10, 2013 Posted May 10, 2013 To borrow a phrase from a old commercial, "now that's a Matador"! Nice work.
slusher Posted May 10, 2013 Posted May 10, 2013 Really nice build SFD, love the color and cragars also..
fury3 Posted May 10, 2013 Posted May 10, 2013 I like it Darcy. Don't see too many of these posted anywhere. I have both unbuilt 75 and 77 versions of these. What kind of problems am I going to experience building them? Care to elaborate? You can never tell about AMT kits during this time period. Fury3

Fury3 I remember building this kit as a youth and I don't remember it being that bad. Maybe it was just a Monday morning kit (or, the one I had was a Wednesday afternoon kit)
Eshaver Posted May 11, 2013 Posted May 11, 2013 Truth be told , I never ever saw this kit ever released as a stock car. I saw a NASCAR version . As everyone else has said , I think you managed a great build out of it .
Sixties Sam Posted May 11, 2013 Posted May 11, 2013 Looks good! It's nice to see something different like this. Very nice job on the build! Sam
