DanielG Posted May 17, 2013 Posted May 17, 2013 Well I am calling this one done! Is it perfect? No, but it looks Ok at shelf distance. I finished this the way I would like it if it were my car not exactly the way the original may have looked. At any rate it is time to move on! I hope that following me do this may have entertained you if nothing else, goodness knows there was enough drama.
Eric N. Posted May 17, 2013 Posted May 17, 2013 Looks great to me! You did alot of work-Love the gold Eric
Tom Geiger Posted May 17, 2013 Posted May 17, 2013 Looks perfectly good to me. I looked the pictures over several times and couldn't find any issues! Nice car, nothing wrong with building it the way you'd want it in 1:1. I do that with my cars too.
surfjunke Posted May 17, 2013 Posted May 17, 2013 Really fine work! Love the color & those opening doors. Would love to put the board in the back & head to the beach!
Randy D Posted May 17, 2013 Posted May 17, 2013 Hi Daniel, What a treat to see this one complete !!! You have opened my eyes to what can be done to a diecast model. Really enjoyed watching you use brass, plastic, pop metal and putty to create this beauty. Congrats Sir Randy
DanielG Posted May 18, 2013 Author Posted May 18, 2013 Thanks guys. I did learn something from doing this one. Maybe the next project will go smoother! Meanwhile, I may resurrect the apocoliptic Pajero and work on it for a while.
W-Machine Posted May 18, 2013 Posted May 18, 2013 You know, for some reason, I could picture Jim Rockford tooling around in something like that.
outlaw035 Posted May 18, 2013 Posted May 18, 2013 really nice conversion....grt8 work on the tail lights....
Tumbler75 Posted May 18, 2013 Posted May 18, 2013 This car is absolutely stunning! Great job and I've followed this build all throughout the process. Yes there was drama but it was a learning curve. What's next on your modeling table?
DanielG Posted May 18, 2013 Author Posted May 18, 2013 Thanks everybody. Jason, I have a dragon diorama on the go but there are some techniques I may want to try on the apocoliptic Pajero so I think I will get back to it.
Eshaver Posted May 18, 2013 Posted May 18, 2013 I'll never understand why G M never did this one even though it would have been a limited sales edition .
realgone58 Posted May 18, 2013 Posted May 18, 2013 Beautiful work! I always thought these things were wild looking.
DanielG Posted May 19, 2013 Author Posted May 19, 2013 I'll never understand why G M never did this one even though it would have been a limited sales edition . They thought it would cost too much. The '79 copies looked pretty good but I don't know what they sold for.
Badluck 13 Posted May 19, 2013 Posted May 19, 2013 Daniel, been a looooong time comin' but boy does it ever look sharp,I have always been amazed with your work with die-cast,a pleasure to see indeed....
sjordan2 Posted May 19, 2013 Posted May 19, 2013 (edited) Very nice color choices, well done. What brand of paint and gold color did you use? Edited May 19, 2013 by sjordan2
