Tom Geiger
Nice work. That is a pretty darn cool model, far from my own building style, but I can dig it!
ChrisR
Also not my style but a great build!
crazyjim
Whoa. Let's pack some details in there. Nice build. Are those decals? If not, how did you do the paint?
Danno
Ambitious paint job! Looks very good. Is that polishing burn-through on the left front fender? Too bad, it distracts from an otherwise great effect.

MikeyB08
Killer!! Working on my 63 Impala at the moment. Given mine will not be any where near as cool as this one. Such a good clean kit. Love the flat black wheels, really helps to set off that color.
Christopher J
Thanks for all the kind words. Crazy Jim, those are decals ordered from Franklin Ink. Until his PC went belly up he made full body decals for a number of model kits. Danno the fender is now meant to look as if the paint had been rubbed down to bare metal. It suffered a mishap when I was shooting clear. I accidently grabbed a can of black when I got distracted and put my can of clear down. They were next to each other on my bench. I didn't get much on there and was able to get the black off with careful use of cotton swabs dampened with lacquer thinner. In the process I thinned the existing clearcoat more than I thought and tapped over the decal to protect it so I could touch up the yellow. When I pulled my tape it pulled the decal. Once that happened I decided to go the "FUBAR'd" fender route.I thought it was a decent semi save.
vintagedragfan
looks like you finally finished this Impala up Christopher, looks great, too bad about the paint mis-hap, oh well live and learn brother live and learn, still need to try and get to a Slammers meeting some time

realgone58
Lot's of work went into this build. I thought the fender was done purposely. Looks like the guy got a few dings and decided to do some body work. I think it's a really nice touch!

Mrdarkmonkey96
I was amazed at the paint job! Then I realized it was decals, but this model still looks absolutely gorgeous. I think if you put any morr detail into it it would up and drive off!
PappyD340
FANTASTIC job Chris, that's tough on the misshap, but IMO you recovered well, hey stuff happens, looks great!!

Christopher J
A big thanks to all for your thoughts concerning my build as well as your sharing your feelings about what should be different Orr is spot on. I love the thoughts and criticisms as it helps one to get better. Mrdarkmonkey the decals aren't available at present, but as soon as he gets a computer running again I'm sure they.will be. blunc
lots of great work on this model. I too would have suggested rethinking the placement of the door handles. A full size custom of this complexity most likely would not have door handles at all.
