Hey guys, I found this Revell lowrider kit on ebay a while ago and built it stock, except that it's lowered a bit. I like that the side trim is separate chrome pieces - much less foiling required! The pieces have pins which fit into holes in the body, as do the door handles and mirrors. I've had so many of these parts fall off of other models. It went together well with no fit issues except for a little sanding of the hood and trunk hinges to let the hood and trunk close completely, and trimming off the chrome trim pins to let the chassis fit into place. Paint is Krylon ocean breeze, which looked close to some photos of '58's I've seen online. The white roof is just the white primer with Wet look clear sprayed over the whole car. Three mirrors, Harry! Enjoy!

Kit decals on the seats.

The muggy weather here in central PA delayed the painting for almost a week! I like the '58 Chevies. They don't get the attention that the tri-fives get, but they were nice looking cars.

Very nice build, just one bugaboo, you missed a mold line on the left rear. How about engine and chassis pics?

I was hoping no one would notice that mold line. I didn't see it till after the model was painted and I was too lazy to redo it! Sorry. I didn't detail the engine and the chassis is just sprayed with flat black. Once again - lazy! Plus I usually display my 50's cars in the parking lot of a 1950's style diner diorama with their hoods closed, so no one sees the engines. My eyes have a tough time at age 64 with tiny wires and hoses!

Good looking model, I like it. Love those upholstery decals, too.

Now give that guy with the red shirt a shot of Dullcote. That shirt is waaaaaay too shiny (unless it's supposed to be polyester and he's headed off to the disco!!!) :lol:

We've all been there with the mold lines, lol. Nonetheless, stunning!

Beautiful job, and a great color choice! That poor mechanic in the red shirt is going to have a splitting headache if he doesn't find a prop rod soon, though :P

Nice!

{With the mold line exception already noted. Isn't it interesting how such a small item can distract so much from an otherwise clean build?}
