sjordan2 Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 (edited) I noticed that I'm just now getting banner ads between the first post and the next post on the list on any particular forum, and within a thread. Not a problem to me, and I hope it helps to support the site. Edited August 1, 2013 by sjordan2
Jouko Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 Not here. But I use Firefox with Adblock Plus.. If it does matter at all.
kelson Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 I got it to,except it shows up in the middle of every forum and every topic I look at!
MoparWoman Jamie Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 I noticed that I'm just now getting banner ads between the first post and the next post on the list on any particular forum, and within a thread. Not a problem to me, and I hope it helps to support the site. It's annoying to see those ad banners in the forum area and in between threads.
Wonderbread Kustomz Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 (edited) Can a mod please remove these pop up ads, because im getting annoyed because i cannot afford a Pre-owned Corvette... Hell, i cant even afford a side view mirror let alone the actual car Edited July 31, 2013 by DragLoKustomz619
Austin T Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 Just got them to,right in the middle of everything! One thing I liked most about this place was that it was relatively ad free, well at least not plastered all over everything.
MoparWoman Jamie Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 I am very annoyed by these stupid ad banners on here. Facebook is almost ad free. Photobucket is the same way almost with ad banners all over the ding dang place. I started surfing on here about 30 minutes ago and ad's in ever area and in in each thread! very annoying........ Does the site owners know these video ad banners carries virus's? yes they do, that's why Photobucket is virus's here and there and people always getting virus's on some sites that has certain ad's being ran. I know Gregg and Harry just got this new forum up and going but I think the ad banners is a big mistake though.
ScaleDale Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 I'm a paid member over in MacRumors for the purpose of avoiding these. What's the charge? Dale

Rob Hall Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 (edited) AdBlock Plus for Firefox blocks the annoying ads. (it also works w/ Sea Monkey which I use w/ a proxy to get around annoying corporate firewalls). Edited July 31, 2013 by Rob Hall
martinfan5 Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 AdBlock Plus for Firefox blocks the annoying ads. By far the best plugin app for FireFox
bbowser Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 Just started today for me also. I wouldn't mind if the mods could guarantee the safety, but I'm guessing that's not possible.

sjordan2 Posted July 31, 2013 Author Posted July 31, 2013 (edited) maybe the free ride is over.Just saying. I think we still get a free ride, and it will stay that way thanks to the ads. Most TV shows work that way unless you're paying for premium cable channels. How much of an inconvenience is this, really? Maybe a couple of extra seconds for loading time. martinfan5 Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 I went to download it, and IE says this type of file may harm my computer?! You should be fine, give it a try
sjordan2 Posted July 31, 2013 Author Posted July 31, 2013 This subject has been moved to Off Topic, evidently because it has nothing to do with model cars. Go figure.
sjordan2 Posted July 31, 2013 Author Posted July 31, 2013 (edited) [Deleted because this is really confusing having stuff moved around] Edited July 31, 2013 by sjordan2
MoparWoman Jamie Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 Well, it did not work, the ads are still visible. After I downloaded and installed it, I have no ad banners now.
sjordan2 Posted July 31, 2013 Author Posted July 31, 2013 (edited) My big question is... if the admin people pin all their topics about the forum in General, why do member questions and observations about the forum get booted into Off Topic? Maybe the "How to Use" this board section should be expanded to "Forum Rules and Discussions." Edited July 31, 2013 by sjordan2
