about the only political thing you needed to worry about when those models came out was whether you got labeled as a "commie" although I've never heard why they also added "pinko" to being a commie.

Actually "Tequila Mockingbird" is pretty clever... ^_^

Sounds like a nice adult beverage...

So is El Ranchero Grande..... at least I think so.

...to enjoy with a south-of-the-border dinner special.

l wonder what kind of expression a bar tender would give if you asked for one...Tequila Mockingbird

I honestly don't see how anyone could be offended by any of those phrases. Ninety nine point nine percent of the people who get offended are looking for something to be offended about.

Speaking of politically correct... anybody remember the Frito Bandito? Gone. I guess he was "offensive" to people.

Closer to home, The University of Illinois had to drop their longtime mascot, "Chief Illiniwek," who was an Indian that represented the local Illiniwek tribes and did a tribal dance during halftime of the U of I Fighting Illini football games. Some people began making noise about how the mascot was "offensive"... and away he went.

But in this current day politically correct world we live in where everyone is offended by everything, how is it that the Washington "Redskins" can still keep that name?

Being from Texas, I can say it's a real deal.

TEQUILA MOCKINGBIRD RECIPE (Ingredients may vary)

1 1/2 oz tequila

3/4 oz green creme de menthe

juice of 1 limes

Shake ingredients with ice and strain into cocktail glass.

Add the Cleveland Indians still using 'offensive' names and advertising. Some colleges have changed names and some have not, probably depends on money. Doubt Florida will ever drop the Seminoles, but some of the MAC schools have already changed, I think Eastern Mich and Miami of Ohio have dropped their Indian names.

But "Indians" (Cleveland) isn't a derogatory term. Same with the Atlanta Braves or the Florida Seminoles. But "redskin" is an actual derogatory term. How is it that teams with far less "offensive" names or mascots have to drop them or change them, but the Washington Redskins are ok? PC is a tricky business...

And then there's the whole 'native American' thing.

I'm native American. Anyone born in America is native American, regardless of their ethnicity.

I even have some American Indian ancestry, but I AM 100% American.

I have English ancestry, but don't call myself English-American.

I have Swedish ancestry, but don't call myself Swedish-American.

And, I am not easily offended.

But, 'Political Correctness' does indeed offend me.

Anything mentioning politics (even via abbreviation) in the title is inevitably going to give someone the opening to post their political opinion, but least this topic was semi-model related.
