WOW!!

I can't wait to see that rumblin' down the road! Unfortunately, when that car hits the road, I'll still be payin' for the Saturn. Maybe when the payments are up I can use this as a second car?? (NOT a daily commuter! :D)

Looks as though GM has no choice but to build that Camaro now!............and with a restyled Mustang due for 2009........Oh man....happy days are here again!! :D

It's good to see a true 2 dr hardtop back on the American Scene too!! :D

BTW John, where did you see the car? It's supposed to be here in Carlisle this weekend at the Chrysler show.......a show I won't be able to go to because of the US 30 reunion the same time.

I'm one of the select few who yawn at the sight of the new Challenger while I instantly fell in love with the new Camaro 8)

Wonder if we'll see a Challenger kit??

I'm dying to get the AMT Camaro in my hands. Gotta take it to the orthodontist first to get it's braces removed from it's face  After that it's all gravy.

If I had to pick between the two I would probably pick the Camaro because I think it looks more aggresive. It has a "GET OUT OF MY WAY!!" look to it that I like!

........And we don't know what the 2009 Mustang's gonna look like yet! Insiders (on some of the Mustang boards) are saying that the '09 redo will be "hippier" and more aggresive.

I'm really, really surprised we haven't seen at least a diecast on this one................I betcha Chrysler's being a stiffneck as usual about royalties and whatnot!

I like those "teeth".....gives it some character!

I saw it at the`06 NY Auto Show in the Javits Convention Center. Chrysler had people taking digital pic's and giving you a card with a number on it. The next day I downloaded the pictures off of Chrysler's web site. Here I'm with my best-buddy Cesar.

I also saw the Imperial.

Bob

I couldn't agree more, the Camaro is the one that excited me too. It's just too bad that they're both so big and heavy.

I'm not a big fan of the new Mustangs but this one caught my eye...

...now if one of the manufacturers would build a sportwagon!

Now THAT's what I want to see on the road.............wrapover windshield and all!! If that doesn't say "LOOK AT ME!!" I don't know what does!

I'm exactly the opposite, I like this new Challenger but don't like the new Camero, it just looks out of proportion to me and that grill is just odd. I do like the new Mustang though one of the better "retro" attempts in my opinion, the Thunderbird was a dismal failure for me, it just looks like a Honda or something, how can you try to catch the essense of a 50's car without including some sort of tribute to the rocket fin.

I also like the new Challenger over the Camaro. the Camaro seems to busy to me. but if I had 35K to spend on a muscle cars. I will be going down to my local Subaru Dealer and get a WRX STi, The Camaro, Challenger and even the Mustang are still chasing that car performance wise.

If GM is going to build the Camaro they can not afford to build it without killing something off. I think the Monte Carlo is going to the chopping blockits been a sales dud since they redesigned them in 2000. The only reason they havent killed it is becouse of its ties to NASCAR

EDIT:, forgot about this little gem coming in 2009, the twin turbo V6 Nissan Skyline GTR

I dunno Terry.......

Word has it that the Monte is to be replaced come 2009-10 on a new RWD platform. It may be called something else (Chevelle!!) or it may keep the Monte name. This is supposed to be based on the new "Zeta" platform which will underpin other models in GM's lineup.

There's also a new RWD Impala in the works.............the concept to be shown at the upcoming Detroit show in January.

I hope Revell does a kit of Challenger. I've seen the prototype at a car show, it looks great in person.. I'm looking forward to seeing the production version in 1:1 eventually.

The original Challenger is probably my favorite vintage Mopar--saw a nice dark blue '70 R/T drive by my office a couple hours ago when I went to lunch (it really stood out amongst the usual SUV/Camry/Accord/BMW/Audi traffic around here).

I WILL have one in 1/1 scale!! I last bought a new car in 2001 (PT) and have held off on a 300 because of the rumored Challenger. I think it will be a great garage mate for my 1973 Javelin...now that they both belong to the Mopar family!!

I'm liking the new Challenger. I will build that one if a kit comes out..I hope it does.

I actually toyed with the idea of buying a 1:1 new Mustang but decided I'd rather wait and get a classic instead.

I wouldn't touch the new Camaro with a 10 foot clown pole. It's the most hideous thing Chevy has done in years, IMO. Almost on par with the Aztek. Almost. I don't plan to buy the kit of the concept car either.

I'm with you Billy. The new Camaro left me cold when I saw it at the NY Auto Show. And it's not a Chevy vs. Mopar thing with me because I think the new Mustang is drop-dead gorgeous. The Camaro looks like it was designed by a cheesy sci-fi cartoonist.

Your right, maybe the Camaro is too Azteck-ish?
