peekay Posted October 21, 2013 Posted October 21, 2013 (edited) Finally got this one finished and I'm quite pleased with the result but now I'm going to do another couple of Johans to recover! Many thanks to BVC500 for sending me replacement lenses for the ones I lost. Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki There should be tiny lenses (1mm, the smallest parts I ever saw in a kit) on the front fenders behind the wheels but these propelled themselves into orbit within seconds of being freed from their tree. I believe not all Daytonas had them anyway. The Ferrari script, "cavallino rampante" badge and the doorlocks are chrome decals from Global Toy in China. The exhaust tips are aluminium tubing and the wipers are PE because I broke one of the kit items. Hosted on Fotki The seats are detailed with painted Letraline tape. Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki A bit of wiring added under the hood, more decorative than prototypical. Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Edited August 9, 2017 by peekay
plastikjunkie2 Posted October 21, 2013 Posted October 21, 2013 wow that's stunning I had to really look close as I thought it was a real car
Matt Bacon Posted October 21, 2013 Posted October 21, 2013 Very, very, very nice. I've been thinking the last couple of days that the Daytona is the best looking Ferrari ever, and your build is doing it justice. The colours are great and the detailing is excellent, whether it's prototypical or impressionistic. My only suggestion would be to take a few pictures for a bit further away -- the exquisite balance of the proportions is a wee bit distorted by the close-ups... bestest, M.
cobraman Posted October 21, 2013 Posted October 21, 2013 Car looks great ! Just a tip..... next time you need to cut off tiny part do it in a sandwich bag. Your part will ( should ) stay in the bag . : )
Shardik Posted October 21, 2013 Posted October 21, 2013 Another stunning build, as expected, Peter. Your "impressionistic" wiring looks pretty convincing to me . I'll have to check out this Global Toy outfit; those scripts look great.
PappyD340 Posted October 22, 2013 Posted October 22, 2013 STUNNING indeed Peter, I really enjoy seeing you builds!!
o-man Posted October 22, 2013 Posted October 22, 2013 I see nothing wrong with this. Fantastic build just like all your others!
BVC500 Posted October 22, 2013 Posted October 22, 2013 Beautiful job Peter! Such a clean build and great color combo!
cruz Posted October 22, 2013 Posted October 22, 2013 Very cool, one of the kits I want to put together one day!!!
Scuderia Posted October 22, 2013 Posted October 22, 2013 Holy cow this is beautiful and the measurements and scale look so realistic with this clean build. Just a gem, great work.
slusher Posted October 22, 2013 Posted October 22, 2013 Excellent build Peter, beautiful shade of blue and amazing detail. You have great talent.
beeRS Posted October 22, 2013 Posted October 22, 2013 That is soooo beautiful Peter. I watched your build with interest. I am very familiar with this kit and have been looking forward to building it some day. Your one looks absolutely stunning. I remember seeing a Coupe in this colour racing against a boat on Top Gear. I remember thinking I would like to build my Fujimi in the same colour - but you beat me to it! The Top Gear clip is here... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TBBy-4tnWoM
GeeBee Posted October 22, 2013 Posted October 22, 2013 Superb build, love the colour, and the extra detail you've put into this build .....
shucky Posted October 22, 2013 Posted October 22, 2013 Thats an amazing build Peter. Thanks for sharing. Looks perfect!
