Finally got this one finished and I'm quite pleased with the result but now I'm going to do another couple of Johans to recover!

Many thanks to BVC500 for sending me replacement lenses for the ones I lost.

There should be tiny lenses (1mm, the smallest parts I ever saw in a kit) on the front fenders behind the wheels but these propelled themselves into orbit within seconds of being freed from their tree. I believe not all Daytonas had them anyway.

The Ferrari script, "cavallino rampante" badge and the doorlocks are chrome decals from Global Toy in China. The exhaust tips are aluminium tubing and the wipers are PE because I broke one of the kit items.

The seats are detailed with painted Letraline tape.

A bit of wiring added under the hood, more decorative than prototypical.

Very, very, very nice. I've been thinking the last couple of days that the Daytona is the best looking Ferrari ever, and your build is doing it justice. The colours are great and the detailing is excellent, whether it's prototypical or impressionistic. My only suggestion would be to take a few pictures for a bit further away -- the exquisite balance of the proportions is a wee bit distorted by the close-ups...

bestest,

M.

Car looks great ! Just a tip..... next time you need to cut off tiny part do it in a sandwich bag. Your part will ( should ) stay in the bag . : )

Another stunning build, as expected, Peter. Your "impressionistic" wiring looks pretty convincing to me :) .

I'll have to check out this Global Toy outfit; those scripts look great.

That is soooo beautiful Peter. I watched your build with interest. I am very familiar with this kit and have been looking forward to building it some day. Your one looks absolutely stunning.

I remember seeing a Coupe in this colour racing against a boat on Top Gear. I remember thinking I would like to build my Fujimi in the same colour - but you beat me to it!

The Top Gear clip is here...
