pharoah Posted October 25, 2013 Posted October 25, 2013 This is the first model I've built in almost two years. I wanted to build something simple, and they don't get much simpler than this. AMT 40 Ford sedan, built as a 39,just to be different. I added another exhaust pipe, and modified the headers a little.Interior is pretty basic, just added flocking on the floor. The paint is Tamiya coral blue. It's no contest model like a lot of other members put on here, but it was something to get me started building again. Hope you like it.
crazyjim Posted October 25, 2013 Posted October 25, 2013 Looks terrific and it's SHINY :) . I'd like to see more of the diorama.
pharoah Posted October 25, 2013 Author Posted October 25, 2013 Thanks guys! Like I said, the paint is Tamiya. straight from the spray can. No polish or wet sanding. Love it! As for the background,it's not really a diorama, but just a backdrop. I have a couple of them I use instead of just a plain background. Here's the whole thing. Its painted on illustration board.
charlie8575 Posted October 25, 2013 Posted October 25, 2013 Nice build- looks good as an early '60s rod. I like the back-drop. Did you actually paint that up yourself? If so, that's fantastic work! Charlie Larkin
pharoah Posted October 25, 2013 Author Posted October 25, 2013 Thanks Charlie. Yes I did paint that. It's another hobby of mine. I got the idea from one of the 'other' car model magazines. They used plaster to make it 3-D. I thought-I could do that with paint!
berr13 Posted October 25, 2013 Posted October 25, 2013 looks great--taken as a whole, car and backdrop, outstanding!
Speedfreak Posted October 26, 2013 Posted October 26, 2013 Sounds like you had fun and where VERY creative! Very Cool! I like it a bunch. Yeah! What's next John?

pharoah Posted October 26, 2013 Author Posted October 26, 2013 I was born in 52,so I remember stores that had the outside walls painted with advertising like that. You don't see that anymore. Too bad..
Sixties Sam Posted April 15, 2016 Posted April 15, 2016 Very nice! I like the color with the red wheels. Cool backdrop too!Sam
