About when the top secret 2014 Revell kit announcement was supposed to be!

http://www.tomdaniel.com/TD_sez/td_message.html

I stumbled on to this this morning, while checking Tom's site. I hope the mods don't think I put this here to get some people all worked up on "When" Revell will make it's announcement, or the TD haters complaining, but rather give you a little peek at a few that are coming back to store shelves in 2014!!! Enjoy...

Neat stuff. I am almost sure that the model car hobby would not be what it is today without Tom Daniels.

The box by itself is cool, and it has parts inside too. :)

Tom Daniel. No "s."

Wait a minute, you mean to tell me hi isn't Jack's brother? :o

No "s" there either.

It's Jack Daniel's whiskey. As in the whiskey of Jack Daniel. Not Jack Daniels.

BTW - Thom signs his name Thom Daniel, no "s" but there's an "h". check his books, Street Rodder articles and illustrations.

While it's cool to see TD kits reissued there are a few that have not been for many years.

How bout Horn Toad, Unreal Roller, The Snap Tite Construction series.

Let's face it, Cop Out and the others are still available on eBay for short money.

Nothing there interests me. I think in all my years I have built two custom/show rods- the Red Baron and the Silhouette. The genre never really appealed to me.

I couldn't agree more Bob.

I guess he himself doesn't know how to spell his own name. It's "Tom" on his official website:

I provided Revell with my mint Dragon Wagon so it could be cloned to create the reissue 'Circus Wagon'.

After that project was complete I was asked for other mint Tom Daniel mint kits.

I had hopped we would see some of these kits but not yet. Maybe a late 2014 surprise????

Cop Out is a cop out. I bought a few of them when Wal Mart had them for $5....and TON of them out there today....nice box....but I'll pass.

I saw Paddy reissue at a hobby shop and a MSRP of $35 again.....I'll pass.

Hope they do well or TD kits will be labelled as flops.

Revell said a few years ago, I don't know if they made it public, that they were going try to re-release 2 or 3 Tom Daniel kits every year. I don't know how much of the tooling of the ~80 Tom Daniel kits is still viable, though.

Agree on Cop Out. It was just in the "Basic Builder" series a couple years ago. New box art is cool and all, but I'd rather see it back with Tom McEwen Mongoose decals.

At least the Paddy Wagon has the new pre-painted figures to add a little value, but it's still a bit over priced at $35 MSRP.

I was told that more or less directly-- Tom's kits, especially the "standards" like the Red Baron, Paddy Wagon, Cop Out, Pie Wagon, Cherry Bomb, etc. are the closest thing Revell has to a guaranteed sale, save for maybe SnapTite Corvettes and Ferraris.

Revell has dabbled in the fringe TD kits, too, reissuing four of the caricature cars in 2001 or so (Street Cleaner, Roarin' Rail, etc.), and I asked Ed Sexton in April if they had an interest in releasing the others such as the Screamin' Vette, Boss Mustang, Dune Rat, and Thunder Bug, so maybe someday. I would be willing to bet the construction caricatures will never be reissued, though.

Ummm... I'll just leave these here (from ebay auctions, not mine): I agree with the others, you're probably thinking of Thom Taylor.
