This will be my next one on the bench. Looks like a pretty good kit but I have heard of some fit problems. Anyone build one ? I am going to do the 2 seat version but will not be using the cut down windshield. I want to stay with the stock windshield and frame. Will be built pretty much box stock. ( probably ) Color to be decided later.

I was able to get some work done on this wip. have some stuff assembled and some stuff painted or primed. I think instead of the tire and wheels that come with the kit I will swap out for a set from a Revell 32 kit. Stock on right Revell one on left in photo. In all my 50 + years of building model kits I have never seen a kit packaged so well. Each "tree" is enclosed in it's own plastic bag. Some trees even have a thin foam wrap around them. To soon to know about the fit of the kit but the packaging sure is impressive.

Trumpeter models are something else. The details are tremendous, but they have issues. I'm building the Trumpeter 1960 Pontiac for a guy's 1:1 and I can't believe some of the things Trumpeter does. Inside & outside rear view mirrors and the radio antenna are white plastic. why didn't they put those pieces of the chrome tree? Is it the same with the Falcon?

No. Just a piece of plastic that includes the belts and pulleys.

I got a couple of the Falcon Sprint street/strip kits a couple of weeks ago from Japan. I wish I would have seen the kit you're building.

I am not surprised about the packaging at all. Their armor and aircraft kits are so impressively packed you almost don't want to take stuff out of the box! While I can't speak for their car kits, their armor and aircraft kits are typically "over-engineered". Meaning the assemblies are far mor complicated than needed. However the detail truly makes up for it. Some fantastic kits in my opinion. I'll be watching this closely as I really want to build a falcon sometime or another and I think Trump is the only game in town that I know of. Yours looks great so far. Keep the updates coming!

Their cars vary from one to the next. The Monte Carlo's engine was terrible. Their suspension is brilliant, though. :)

Trumpeter seems to have issues doing their car kit's engines properly. To call the Monte Carlo engine "generic" would be doing it a favor. The Falcon engine's intake manifold only has 5 passages(!) and it too is rather featureless. The '60 Pontiac has poor engraving and is rather shapeless. The '63 Nova has about the best engine but it still isn't as good as most domestic kit engines. Then you factor in the other problems their kits have with accuracy and the builds will be quite a challenge.I've decided to do a gasser from the '65 Ranchero I have.I'll swap out the engine and eliminate the most serious flaw of the kit.

I think your falcon will look better with the factory windshield Ray like you have planed. l was told that Trumpeter car kits have very high part counts is that true??

Got some time to get back on this wip. Interior pretty much done. Unfinished section will be covered by the rear seat cover. Engine pretty much done. Body painted and cleared. Shot some Dullcote on the wheels to tone them down a bit. So far the kit seems to fit together pretty good. Thanks for looking.

Looks good and I built the other version of this one...I want the hardtop again now...The Nova had a lot issues with it (but alot was custom done to it also) But I was happy with everything on the Falcon
