Ridgeback Posted November 15, 2013 Posted November 15, 2013 I bet that took some planning! ( and large cahoonas )
zenrat Posted November 15, 2013 Posted November 15, 2013 Imagine the first time. "Nah, nah, you'll be right mate. We've done the sums. Trust me it'll work..."
checkmate Posted November 15, 2013 Posted November 15, 2013 Just glad everyone stayed behind that super strong looking piece of white cable just in case it went wrong and got out of control you know they'd be safe.
Draggon Posted November 15, 2013 Posted November 15, 2013 That's great, and all, but us oldtimers remember it was done 39 years ago in "The Man with the Golden Gun" in an AMC none the less.

That came to mind too, although this had more of a "Hold My Beer and Check This Out!" feel to it. IIRC, that Bond movie jump had been laid out on computer years before and had been done with a Javelin in the late 60's-earlier 70's barnstorming circuit prior to being done for the movie.

And they did it in one take. http://auto.howstuffworks.com/auto-racing/motorsports/5-scariest-stunt-car-feats1.htm Edited November 15, 2013 by sjordan2
Lunajammer Posted November 15, 2013 Posted November 15, 2013 (edited) Hmm. A take off ramp and then hit a pipe ramp (only the width of the tire). Pretty tricky. Looks like the entire roll is from a well targeted, single, front wheel strike. The beauty of the "...Golden Gun" roll, which apparently has never been repeated, is that it was ramp to ramp.
