Hello Dave, we have never met but Dirk speaks very highly of you all the time. The last time we spoke he couldn't stop prasing your Diamond T... quote "outrageous" unquote. I hope and I'm sure one day we will meet, and I look forward to seeing this truck in person.

WOW, that is a beautiful truck. Did you open and hinge all the doors, or is that how it comes in the kit ?? I've always wanted to try my hand at a big rig, maybe someday, and I hope it turns out half as nice as this one.

Wow Outstanding Job B);):) One of my Favorite Trucks in 1:1 scale, and you have done a remarkable job shrinking one down with Class ;)

Just curious, what scale and kit is that

HeY Steve,

Thanks for the praise. Dirk's work is absolutely awesome and he is my inspiration when it comes to machining. To have him think my work is outrageous really makes me happy. I hope that one day I can machine like him!

Hey Steve,

Thanks for the comments and the kit came as one complete piece of resin consisting of the cab, hood, grill and fenders. I seperated everything, cut and hinged the doors using brass hinges (scratch-built) and magnets (one in door and one in rocker panel area) to keep the doors closed when in transit. Try your hand at it... building trucks is alot of fun too!!

This is suppose to be a 1/24 scale kit, but keep in mind that this was one of the largest class D trucks built from this period.

Considering David hasn't been on the Board since October 2010, I doubt you'll get an answer from him.

Yeah.... he's long gone. See if his e-mail is shown on his profile page, you may be able to contact him that way.

Very nice Diamond T Conventional (I just discovered this 2007 pics because I wanted to go back as far as possible) - is this the AITM conversion?

This is either the AITM conversion, or it was Frank Gortsemas casting before AITM. I can't remember exactly what year Dave started casting. I have one of Dave's cabs and it's very nice.

This is a beautiful model. And yes I have seen it before. It is a shame that the builder seems to have dropped out of the Forum !
