What's funny is the original 1966 AMT kit indicates it's a GS version of the Riviera, but it's not.  A similar situation is the MPC 1972 Impala kit.  The box indicates it has the 454 engine, but it's only the 400!

Here are photos of the AMT/Ertl 1966 Buick Riviera engine in the stock kit 30083 with millimeter rulers so someone can compare it to a real one for scale.

Here is a mock-up of the stock chassis and rear axle with kit tires. The kit doesn't have any custom or lowered suspension parts. If I lowered it there would hardly be any travel for the tires in the wheel wells. Does the lowrider kit use smaller diameter tires in addition to the lowered suspension parts?

I modified mine , just a little bit.

One glaring omission on the engine is a lack of a valley pan under the intake. But if you're using the stock air cleaner is's not too noticeable

That's a nice custom -- I like the clean, simplified look as well as the expertly applied beautiful color.
