Porscheman Posted November 26, 2013 Posted November 26, 2013 I got this one at the LIARS show a couplle of weeks ago. The built kit was totally dismantled and all non-chrome parts were soaked in Puple Power and then painted Testors Royal Blue Pearl Lacquer with 4 coats of Wet Look Clear. The car wasn't in to bad of shape with the exception of where the windows were attached, the old glue melted the outside of the body. Alll and all, it came out pretty good. Hope you like it. Al
Maindrian Pace Posted November 26, 2013 Posted November 26, 2013 Great resto, and nice to see one that's not in that burnt orange metallic color. -MJS
Eshaver Posted November 26, 2013 Posted November 26, 2013 I see a lot of hand wringing an useless moanin an a groanin on any Jo-han manufactured kit . I well remember this kit too. The inside fenders were a separate item, nicely defined interior and to me , the dimensions were just way too good to be true . You did a great job of bringing this one back and it needs to be displayed prominently ...................
realgone58 Posted November 26, 2013 Posted November 26, 2013 Another beautiful resto! Color looks superb on this one!
the goon Posted November 26, 2013 Posted November 26, 2013 (edited) Love it. Great save. I remember seeing a full size one new as a 9 year old, and loved it then Mark Edited November 27, 2013 by the goon
Peter Lombardo Posted November 26, 2013 Posted November 26, 2013 Nice save.....another one of those kits (read, molds and tooling) that should have been saved. What a shame it is lost, except for great resto's like this one. These old JoHan kits are like a friend that died way to early in their life.....we all morn their passing. Nice work, this model lives on.
Terry Jessee Posted November 26, 2013 Posted November 26, 2013 Oh my gosh, that is beautiful. Thank you for that great save. Terry
