deward Posted December 5, 2013 Posted December 5, 2013 I'm not sure if I ever posted this here or not but this is a build I did back in 2008. Mods include : 4x4 conversion, cage, front bumper, 4 link front and back, coil overs, fuel cell, brake lines, plumbed engine, and weathering. This is my favorite build that I have done and I try to top it each time. Thanks for looking!
slusher Posted December 5, 2013 Posted December 5, 2013 Kevin, I thought it was a real truck when l first opened the post. Great build, very realistic and weathering. Not over done and great photos also...
Ridgeback Posted December 5, 2013 Posted December 5, 2013 I like this a lot. The mods are spot on and the detailing is excellent.
PappyD340 Posted December 5, 2013 Posted December 5, 2013 Kevin, I thought it was a real truck when l first opened the post. Great build, very realistic and weathering. Not over done and great photos also... Kevin, I have to second what Carl said, I thought is was a real truck at first, man that is OUTSTANDING, you will be hard pressed to top that with your next build!!! Great job on the weathering, excellent photography and I assume that is real mud??
donb Posted December 5, 2013 Posted December 5, 2013 Great looking realistic build. Great photography too.
the goon Posted December 5, 2013 Posted December 5, 2013 What everybody else said, thought it was a full size truck in the first pic Mark
deward Posted December 5, 2013 Author Posted December 5, 2013 Thanks everyone! Kevin, I have to second what Carl said, I thought is was a real truck at first, man that is OUTSTANDING, you will be hard pressed to top that with your next build!!! Great job on the weathering, excellent photography and I assume that is real mud?? Yes it is real mud, I used a tooth brush to apply it and to give it a spray pattern. Heres a link the build on Scale Auto. If its a problem posting a link to another forum let me know and I will remove it. Thankshttp://cs.scaleautomag.com/sca/modeling_subjects/f/33/t/66661.aspx
Jordan 191 Posted December 7, 2013 Posted December 7, 2013 Another great one! You have got this style nailed.
David G. Posted December 27, 2013 Posted December 27, 2013 Excellent work! It could pass for a 1:1 truck! David G.
disabled modeler Posted December 27, 2013 Posted December 27, 2013 Very nice work Kevin...very realistic looking!

Danno Posted January 4, 2014 Posted January 4, 2014 Awesome build! I, too, thought it was a real 1:1 until the pic of it on its side. Thanks for including that one, or I still wouldn't be certain!
Lunajammer Posted January 4, 2014 Posted January 4, 2014 Awesome build! I, too, thought it was a real 1:1 until the pic of it on its side. Thanks for including that one, or I still wouldn't be certain! Likewise. Pooling through your thread with one eye on the TV, I wasn't reading closely and I thought it was real... until it was tipped. Not just a nod to your build but your photos too.
krazyglu Posted January 4, 2014 Posted January 4, 2014 Look's just like the crawler's they build around here, I know four or more have said it ,but I thought the first picture was the 1:1 and you were buiulding a scaled version of it....impressive and cool subject.
deward Posted January 4, 2014 Author Posted January 4, 2014 Thanks everyone! I no longer live at that house I took those pictures in or i would pose all of my models in that spot. It worked out pretty well.
Devilsnake98 Posted January 12, 2014 Posted January 12, 2014 This is so sweet, really realistic build and detailing. Where did you get the iroks from? And any idea about what size they scale out in 1:1?
