Chris guthro Posted December 9, 2013 Posted December 9, 2013 Very nice build so far! Love the color choice!!
RandyB. Posted December 9, 2013 Author Posted December 9, 2013 Randy are you doing a chrome front bumper or painted? Thanks Chris. David.....I will be using the chrome bumpers.
RandyB. Posted December 10, 2013 Author Posted December 10, 2013 (edited) Got the 426 Hemi finished tonight. I had to make a bracket for the alternator. Edited December 10, 2013 by RandyB.
drodg Posted December 10, 2013 Posted December 10, 2013 Randy looks great. I am painting and building my engine now.
RandyB. Posted December 10, 2013 Author Posted December 10, 2013 Randy looks great. I am painting and building my engine now. Good luck with it David. Are you going to post your progress here on the boards?
cobraman Posted December 10, 2013 Posted December 10, 2013 Glad your feeling better. Good looking engine.
RandyB. Posted December 10, 2013 Author Posted December 10, 2013 Thanks Ray. Easier doing modeling when you don't have a pounding headache!
Deathgoblin Posted December 10, 2013 Posted December 10, 2013 The engine looks amazing. Can't wait to see the rest of the car now.
drodg Posted December 10, 2013 Posted December 10, 2013 Good luck with it David. Are you going to post your progress here on the boards? I will report the progress. May I ask why you needed a bracket for your alternator? I just got done soaking my alternator and carbs in Easy Off to remove the chrome and was planning on installing tonight or tomorrow evening.

The kit does not include a bracket for the alternator. Doesn't look right sitting up in the air with nothing holding it there except a fan belt!

drodg Posted December 11, 2013 Posted December 11, 2013 Randy and everyone who has the model. I finished priming my body last night and I noticed on the body above the left rear wheel opening that it is distorted. I opened another Cuda I bought and it has the same thing. Has anyone else noticed this? I am at work now so I cannot take pictures. I probably am more sensitive to it because I plan on replicating a side molding instead of stripes down the side.

I can see what you mean David. The crease immediately above the wheel well on the left side rear deviates away from a straight line. I didn't even notice this until you mentioned it.
RandyB. Posted December 11, 2013 Author Posted December 11, 2013 (edited) I have decided to go with the colour-keyed elastomeric bumpers for the clean aggressive look rather than the chrome bumpers. I need to wait for some decent weather before I can get them painted Lime Light. Edited December 11, 2013 by RandyB.
jaydar Posted December 11, 2013 Posted December 11, 2013 Good looking engine. Which paint did you use? Joe.
RandyB. Posted December 11, 2013 Author Posted December 11, 2013 Good looking engine. Which paint did you use? Joe. Thanks Joseph. I used Tamiya orange brush paint with some Tamiya red added to it to match hemi orange as close as I could get it.
drodg Posted December 11, 2013 Posted December 11, 2013 Randy I think originally the Lime Light cars if they had a painted front bumper the rear would still be chrome. I think either way looks good.

I think either way looks good. David..I have found information that body coloured elastomeric back bumpers were available in all nine colours effective Jan 5 1970 which includes Lime Light. Check out the link below. http://www.cuda-challenger.com/cc/index.php?topic=16748.5;wap2
RandyB. Posted December 12, 2013 Author Posted December 12, 2013 Okay...another update. Since I will be going with the elastomeric bumpers front and back I have decided to cut off the license plate on the front bumper for a cleaner look.
