BigBlockLyle Posted January 3, 2008 Posted January 3, 2008 WOW, I like this car. I love the color, wheels, and engine. I wish I could afford one of these kits. Now, where can I get a set of those valve covers? I want a set of those for my Hemi Duster.

Close up of front seats with "R/T" logos courtesy of Keith Marks decals. The beginnings of the instrument panel with the white faced sweep speedo gauge package custom made by Keith Marks. I have one door panel BMF'd and the floor flocked but I'll wait to post pics of these until the interior is near completion.

Let me just say that, 1- the car is coming along great! and 2- those white faced gauges are cool!! How did he do them? They look like they are on clear acetate. Great effect!

Various shades of black, BMF on the door panels, photoetched window cranks with black styrene knobs (yes, I made them), Ken's Fuzzi Fur flocking. Used some extra Keith Marks "R/T" emblem decals to simulate embroidered logos on the seat backs. More to come...

I tried several time tonight on my 67 with no luck due to the flat paint I think. No, I didn't. I could have done the rears with a silver Sharpie because they are separate parts. Wasn't sure how to do the fronts. BMF I guess. Mine are semi gloss and the door panel trim was tuff enough to BMF.

I at the point in the build where I'm painting and detailing lots of little parts. Here's the intake system for the Hemi. Came from the Coronet Pro Street kit. I stripped the air cleaners and painted with Testors Titanium metallizer and BMF. Detail Master braided lines and fittings. You've seen this from me before and you'll no doubt see it again until my eyesight goes. About 280 #78 holes drilled over the last two evenings. Why do I do this?

Marc @ MPC Motorsports Posted January 21, 2008 Author Posted January 21, 2008 Been working on the little details on the '68 Coronet R/T, like engine parts and detailing. The Hemi is nearly complete so I dropped it into the engine bay for a lookie see. Wiper motor and brake booster assembly is from a Revell '69 Charger R/T. Distributor is one of my scratchbuilt pieces. I'm pleased with how this one's coming together. Enjoy!!!

Marc @ MPC Motorsports Posted March 21, 2008 Author Posted March 21, 2008 After a two month hiatus I was able to push life aside and assume the position at the workbench and get back to work on the Coronet. Cut and polished some aluminum tubing for exhaust tips. Attached the rear axle/exhaust assembly to the chassis and installed the tips. I just love the menacing look of a B Body Mopar with big pipes out the back! Never mind the rear bumper. That's still the bumper from my '69 Coronet builder that I've been using for mock ups. I have new Modelhaus '68 bumpers ready to install.

I'm about half way thru the BMF tonight. Here's a shot of the rear with the photoetch R/T emblem and the taillighs installed. The taillights are backed with embossed chrome mylar from a "AAA" sticker. The chassis and engine compartment are complete except for the radiator. Engine is from the same AMT '69 Daytona Charger that donated its chassis. Front belts, alternator, intake, carbs and aircleaners from AMT '69 GTX. The GTX also donated the wiper motor and a Revell '69 Charger gave up its master cylinder. I resin cast the valve covers and scratchbuilt the distributor and added photoetch pulley faces. Enjoy!!!
