Pim Posted August 19, 2014 Posted August 19, 2014 Interesting idea as for my entry I am currently painting parts for the interior and chassis. For the interior I am planning a race/stripped out look with a six point roll cage, race seats and detachable steering wheel P.S cool idea for next year's run
wrecker388 Posted August 19, 2014 Posted August 19, 2014 (edited) An idea for next years run. Hmm... I better keep that twin pod-racer engine powered 53 Corvette idea I have off of the bench for a while... No updates on the GTO. I've been working on Pap's C10 model for his birthday Saturday pretty diligently. Edited August 19, 2014 by wrecker388
Pim Posted August 26, 2014 Posted August 26, 2014 Hey guys my gto is progressing nicely but I have a couple of quick questions are you allowed to have only 1front seat and also can I have a GPS screen in the car or do I have to make a 1\24 road directory?
JTalmage Posted August 26, 2014 Posted August 26, 2014 I put the General back in the box for a while. Still havent got my parts from another member on here. I'll either be retiring it from this competition if I dont get the parts soon and looking for a new vehicle to take its place, or... I dont know yet.
knarf Posted August 26, 2014 Posted August 26, 2014 Hey guys my gto is progressing nicely but I have a couple of quick questions are you allowed to have only 1front seat and also can I have a GPS screen in the car or do I have to make a 1\24 road directory? i had gps in my entry last year, so i'd say you're good
Lunajammer Posted August 27, 2014 Posted August 27, 2014 The rules only say the foundation subject must be 1979 or earlier, but it also welcomes modern upgrades so GPS is probably okay. I think only the drivers seat has to pass the freak chance there'd be a road inspection. It's understood it wouldn't be carrying passengers if there's no other seats.
TFchronos Posted August 29, 2014 Posted August 29, 2014 Opps hadn't realized I never put up a pic of the GTX done. Well I'll wait until the Dart and Formula are done I guess. Here's a little teaser though. And here's the starting point of my two main entries. '68 Dart: Plans are to build it up to look like one I have on Forza 4. I'm going to cut out the doors and trunk lid and do a few other light changes. Nothing wild or over the top like last year. And last but certainly not least a '77 Trans Am that will be converted over to a Formula which I want to build up as a replica to the one my Dad use to own.
Jaguar man 21 Posted August 31, 2014 Posted August 31, 2014 Hey guys I here to tell you I'm back in with the revell 1966 gt350 I'm going to give it a mild custom flavor
Jaguar man 21 Posted August 31, 2014 Posted August 31, 2014 I have a few things painted I have a few engine to chose from the one on the far right is the 289 from the 64 mustang but I'm building it with a modern day twist
Jaguar man 21 Posted August 31, 2014 Posted August 31, 2014 Some progress my exhaust idea I also scratch built a roll cage
64SS350 Posted September 2, 2014 Posted September 2, 2014 Not sure if I get to finish, too much going on, but trying to get back into it. Ralley interior basically done. Man..look at that dust
Jaguar man 21 Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 Yet again I'm bowing out I've got to many projects to finish good luck guys
JTalmage Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 New month, new update.... Still havent gotten my parts from "a/gass". Been over six months. Might have to withdraw the General Mayhem from this challenge and find some other kit(s) to put in the ring...
Jantrix Posted September 5, 2014 Posted September 5, 2014 (edited) Ah the old MPC '67 Charger. An old favorite. Looking forward to seeing this. Edited September 5, 2014 by Jantrix
Dominik Posted September 6, 2014 Posted September 6, 2014 (edited) After a short responde with Nick about my entry (he is really busy), i am in. Here we go - an update of my work last month. My subject is a gluebomb 300SL from italerie. totally stripped. First thing, i sanded and sprayd a layer of filler. next round of sanding... ...and took an eye of the drivetrain. Out of my partsbox i took the drivetrain from a Ferrari Superamerica-or so, glued it and made some points to fix it on the frame: a test of fitting all together: Perfekt! Her is parts for ther own: Next was the trans bigger than the original, so the interieur doesn't go in: new tunnel made: done. Two things, that a old racecar must have (in my view and because i am a fan of it) are small rollbars... ...aaaand the exhaust like a Viper (love it): Thats for it now. No its up for the bodywork to get color on it. uh,...the interieur also needs some work Thanks fellas for watching. Edited September 6, 2014 by Dominik

MLMDesign Posted September 6, 2014 Posted September 6, 2014 More updates for my 67 Charger i have decided to two tone it with Hemi Orange and Gloss Black.
zenrat Posted September 8, 2014 Posted September 8, 2014 (edited) Just checking in. I may have dobbed some filler on the Skyhawk body but I haven't sanded it yet. You're all doing very well. Fred Edited September 8, 2014 by zenrat

Pat Minarick Posted September 8, 2014 Posted September 8, 2014 Well I looked a my truck tonight ! I better get going . It looks like it is going to be a crowded starting line this year.
Pim Posted September 8, 2014 Posted September 8, 2014 Update on the gto I have finished painting everything on it and I might enter a second entry as a support vehicle for the gto
W-409 Posted September 8, 2014 Posted September 8, 2014 Finally I was able to do some more bodywork with my Dodge Charger Daytona. After the last set of pictures, I have been adding putty and sanding the front end many times. There was also a large sink mark on the trunk lid and on top of the rear fenders. I smoothed that out with putty and sanded it smooth. Then I thought it would be the time to throw some spray filler on. And to my surprise, I didn't screw up the paint this time.
maltsr Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 Finally finished my '67 Corvette. Painted Tamiya bright red over pink primer, substituted a '90's era Corvette motor and sprinkled with some photoetch detail parts.
Lunajammer Posted September 13, 2014 Posted September 13, 2014 Paul, that Vette is a honey. Lovely detail and that engine looks like it belongs there.
