I remember a thread from when Ray passed away, but I can't find it now and can't recall if anyone knew what happened to his stuff. A couple of days ago, I asked the seller on ebay who was selling his product, and this is the reply I got.

Dear realgonemopars,

Mrs. Parsons told me they had sold the rights to the name and had sold the molds before he passed but I do not know to who or if it might have been overseas.

Anyone know what's going on? Lot's of them I'd like to build.

I talked to Steve Kohler, of Star Models and he said that he is not getting any more R&R resin and he has about 1100 pieces in his stock. He does update his list, as the last individual item is sold. So you had better buy it if you want something. No word on anyone continuing casting any of their products.

I emailed Steve on a couple of R & R models the other day, it was a '50 Mercury Convertible wich he only had one left...and now he has none, and the '62 Cadillac 2dr HT Coupe DeVille but it was unfortunately sold out...I really wanted that one as I think '62 Cadillac 2dr HT's are cool... so if anyone know where to get one I'm interested.

That's an interesting note from msmiteymouse since we really haven't heard anything since Ray's passing. It was rumored a while back that there was a party interested in buying R&R in Europe. So maybe that's the deal.

It doesn't seem right that Ray sold the company while he was alive. For years every time I'd see Ray he'd tell me this was his last year, that he was retiring. Then he'd be back at NNL East the next year. Then he discovered that he could wholesale the kits for others to sell on the Internet and he said he couldn't make the product fast enough. The last time I saw him he came to NNL East as a spectator, and brought us about a dozen R&R kits to give away as prizes. I never saw him happier. He said he was going to quit the business because he was tired of being on the road and going to shows, but that he enjoyed making the product and would do so as long as he could. And he died later that year, so I don't think he sold the company.

If Steve has 1100 pieces and Missmiteymouse is still selling product, there are a lot of R&R kits out there. I not only bought them direct from Ray at shows, but I've bought them second hand from others. I'll bet there's enough R&R product that it won't be in short supply for a while.

Msmightymouse is slowly dwindling down. Only has a handful of models left, compared to about fifty or sixty different ones several months ago. I doubt Ray sold before he died either, but not sure.

Reliable sources say Ruth has sold R&R. As to how much of what Ray owned, that is not known. If you have ever visited Ray's place, you would know that there is a LOT of stuff there. A LOT....And I mean a ....L O T.

What is the quality of R&R?

Is it only for the experienced modeler?

How do you go about buying from star?

I went to website and couldn't get drop down menu to change to R&R

Also how do you buy from msmightymouse?

I bought a R&R kit from Ray's son about six years ago. He said it was the last one of that style and that he was discontinuing his dad's kits and making new ones under another company name, which escapes me at this time.

Greg-The quality of R&R products varies. Many subjects have an incorrect chassis and body shape and thickness varies from side to side. The later items are better than most of the earlier items. The 79-80 Malibu, for example,is decent. The '71 Riviera will make you want to take up knitting.

Thank you. Cool subjects but not for me(amount of effort I want to put into building a model) Thanks again.

I think you are confusing R&R for F&F. Ray just died this year. Ed Fluck's son did just what you said, about in that time frame.
