LeadFred Posted January 5, 2014 Posted January 5, 2014 Here is another "Dyno Don" drag car, With a little bit more detail. The wrinkle slicks=Competition resin The engine=Ross Gibson Scratch built= headlights and some of the rollcage and Front shocks + chassie from firewall to front. and also the headers= of solder+parachute bracket. Modified= The lift of Bodyfront.and the wheeltubs. Decals=Slixx Probebly are the car not correct replica of the real car,but i did some searching on the net but could“nt find many detailed pictures,so i decided to build it in a truly way. Fred
madhorseman Posted January 5, 2014 Posted January 5, 2014 Very cool Fred, I've wanted to do the same You have, the removable front clip. You've done it really well, nice going!!
W-409 Posted January 5, 2014 Posted January 5, 2014 Very Nice Pro Stock Mustang! I like the paint and detail work on this one. Stance looks spot on as well, good looking build. I have to bookmark this, since I'm building a Mustang II, too. It won't be a Pro Stock, but it will be close, though. Good Job.
crowe-t Posted January 5, 2014 Posted January 5, 2014 (edited) Another beautiful build Fred! The stance looks perfect. How did you make the head lights? Edited January 5, 2014 by crowe-t
bogger44 Posted January 5, 2014 Posted January 5, 2014 Great build Fred, looks spot on to me. Congrats.
LeadFred Posted January 5, 2014 Author Posted January 5, 2014 (edited) Another beautiful build Fred! The stance looks perfect. How did you make the head lights? I have done a mold in silicone of the headlight in the kit and then cast it in clear plastic ( my daytime job is casting in plastic) then i found in a fabric/textile store where they have rivets that you adorn clothing with, a little round rivet in chrome or aluminum. The back of the rivet is like a reflector, that you glue to the back of the lens. If you have a partsbox you kan use lenses from another kit,but it is important to have the same size so they will fit. If you want a thin chromed edge around the lens you could use aluminum tube in the right size. You get much more realistic headlights with this method. I“ll hope i use the right words in my explanation. Look at my Dyno Don Pinto topic, the Pinto have a headlight with the thin edge of a aluminum tube. Fred Edited January 5, 2014 by LeadFred
twopaws Posted January 5, 2014 Posted January 5, 2014 Love it. Those were the days. Excellent workmanship.
1320wayne Posted January 6, 2014 Posted January 6, 2014 Very nice build indeed. The details look great and the paint work is superb.
Fun_E_Car Posted January 6, 2014 Posted January 6, 2014 My Favorite Pro Stock! That is sweet. I wish I had that on my shelf. --Dave
Force Posted January 6, 2014 Posted January 6, 2014 (edited) Nice build! I know it's too late for your build but here are a couple of detail shots for the Dyno Don Mustang II, the only ones I have found. As you see they ran small block engines at that time in Pro Stock (in this case a 351 Cleveland) but your car could maybe be a Match Racer. Edited January 6, 2014 by Force
Racephoto1 Posted January 6, 2014 Posted January 6, 2014 If I remember correctly , Dyno Don's match race car was the first 7 second pro stocker.
stump Posted January 12, 2014 Posted January 12, 2014 Fred, that is a super clean build mate, GREAT work!
