ScaleModelAddict Posted January 10, 2014 Posted January 10, 2014 (edited) Been browsing here looking at all the incredible work. Thought I'd post this. Base kit is the recent Revell 359 Peterbilt. I scratch built the frame, suspension, exhaust. Channeled the body, suicide doors and fabricated bomber seats and visor with cookie tin sheet. Finally I gave her a nasty name as an attempt to push it over the edge, designed the logo and made the decals. Thanks for looking. Edited January 10, 2014 by ScaleModelAddict
olsbooks Posted January 10, 2014 Posted January 10, 2014 Incredible work! Notes being taken! What did you use for the "fresh" grease? I'm trying to "grubby up" a fifth wheel on my KW Gold Nugget and have not been able to get the perfect effect you created. Salutes, bows, and praises and all that kind of stuff for a truly impressive job!
Custom Hearse Posted January 10, 2014 Posted January 10, 2014 That is TOTALLY AWESOME!!! That is one of the coolest builds I've ever seen! I have to ask a dumb question though... Is it 1/25th or 1/16th? The weathering is outstanding, you did one heck of a job on that!!!
ScaleModelAddict Posted January 10, 2014 Author Posted January 10, 2014 Thank you guys. Its 1/25. The 5th wheel was weathered with AK Interactive pigments and washes. I built up the grime over 5 sessions with drying time inbetween. Appreciate the comments. It was a fun project.
kilrathy10 Posted January 10, 2014 Posted January 10, 2014 That is probably the coolest thing I've ever seen....Very nice work....
Danno Posted January 10, 2014 Posted January 10, 2014 Scott, that is so ugly it's great looking! Super job on the fifth wheel.
slusher Posted January 10, 2014 Posted January 10, 2014 Very cool and unique build..great weathering.....
PappyD340 Posted January 10, 2014 Posted January 10, 2014 COOOOOL, looks like the star vehicle from some big rig thriller movie!! fantastic weathering job BTW!!
ScaleModelAddict Posted January 10, 2014 Author Posted January 10, 2014 Thanks for the comments. Yup, it's big and ugly, for sure.
ScaleDale Posted January 10, 2014 Posted January 10, 2014 Hi, Scott. Welcome to MCM. Glad to see you finally finished this thing, and it turned out just awesome. I'm not really a rat rod fan, but this is just over the top. Dale
ScaleModelAddict Posted January 10, 2014 Author Posted January 10, 2014 Thanks Dale. No worries on the preference; it would be fun to build something like this is more of a hot rod style as opposed to rat rod; maybe someday.
Chillyb1 Posted January 10, 2014 Posted January 10, 2014 Wowsie-doodle-dandy, that's just too cool for words. The only thing I'd change is nothing. Like Dale, I'm not really a fan of rat rods or big trucks, but I love builds like this
tbill Posted January 10, 2014 Posted January 10, 2014 wow, that is spectacular...............!!!!!!! you really captured the essence on this, well done!
DPNM Posted January 11, 2014 Posted January 11, 2014 (edited) Your concept and execution on this build is fantastic. It's not my thing either but in whatever category it falls into YOU NAILED IT!!! The fifth wheel and surrounding area look real. Excellent weathering. It's awesome Edited January 11, 2014 by DPNM
purepmd Posted January 11, 2014 Posted January 11, 2014 Hi Scott, FANTASTIC weathering. This is, so far the most unique Pete I've seen. I have to admit I don't like rat rods, so I was very biased when I checked your model out, but it is so well done, I can't help but really like it. Awesome job! Mark.
Pavel A. Posted January 11, 2014 Posted January 11, 2014 Great work with weathering. From this model shines pure strenght and energy. Awesome work, man.
Q tip Posted January 11, 2014 Posted January 11, 2014 man I hope dr.cranky is seeing this, its so wrong its right! awesome!
Kostas Parchas Posted January 11, 2014 Posted January 11, 2014 So whats the title of the movie??? Great job done there. The first picture fulled me. I like the white rings on the tyres. Kostas.
BigBad Posted January 12, 2014 Posted January 12, 2014 (edited) Looks like a cross between Pissed-Off Pete and Jessy James' Diesel trike! Looks awesome man, I like the whitewalls and all the freakin' details! By the way, I noticed you have Quebec plates in that cab... Nice. Edited January 12, 2014 by BigBad
