The Modeling Hermit Posted January 19, 2014 Posted January 19, 2014 This is my latest project. I turned a 56 Chevy DelRay (210) into a 150 4 door sedan and put it to work as a taxi. The taxi theme is a direction that I generally don't follow. It seems that whenever it's mentioned that one is making a 4 door car that it's assumed that it will be a police car or a taxi, but this one just seemed to call out to be a taxi. I'm including a comparison photo to display the changes that were performed.
The Modeling Hermit Posted January 19, 2014 Author Posted January 19, 2014 A company called Arrowhead Aftermarket Accessories makes them.
peter31a Posted January 19, 2014 Posted January 19, 2014 Wow! Very nice conversion. It does look very appropriate as a taxi.
TooOld Posted January 19, 2014 Posted January 19, 2014 Great looking Taxi ! I did a double take when I saw the snow tires but then I saw where you are !
Tom Geiger Posted January 19, 2014 Posted January 19, 2014 Cool. I recently bought an old F&F resin '56 Chevy 4 door sedan body and was thinking of doing mine as a US Army staff car. I already have a pair of taxis in the works, Dodge Caravan and '62 Valiant.
Foxer Posted January 20, 2014 Posted January 20, 2014 Cool build and, yes, I like the snows too ... a proper Taxi now.
rmvw guy Posted January 20, 2014 Posted January 20, 2014 I would have guessed it was a resin body, nice conversion, looks real. I never thought 4 doors were cool but, as models they really are. Love the taxi. A buddy of mine had a 4 door '56 with a 327 and 4 speed that fooled a lot of people.
am73grand Posted January 20, 2014 Posted January 20, 2014 That's cool!!! The snow tires are a great touch!
FordRodnKustom Posted January 20, 2014 Posted January 20, 2014 Sharp conversion work. I like the show tires and livery.
Dave Darby Posted January 20, 2014 Posted January 20, 2014 Very Cool, I like the snow tires, too. Well done, Sir!

Love the taxi. A buddy of mine had a 4 door '56 with a 327 and 4 speed that fooled a lot of people. I think that any tri-5 Chevy is cool now a days. The Aussies only had 4 doors so they worked with what they had and built some neat rods. In the future we'll see more 1:1s rodded as they will be the only ones affordable for some. Me? I'd love to have a '56 4 door hardtop. I just love those lines!
