Racephoto1 Posted January 25, 2014 Posted January 25, 2014 I got great news, Chris Etzel's Speed Classic kits are going to re-issued. If you haven't seen one of these resin kits, I can assure you there are none better.

Racephoto1 Posted January 25, 2014 Author Posted January 25, 2014 I was talking to Lance Sellers at the memorabilia show at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. He had some of his Indy car kits, and we started talking about Chris Etzel kits. He told me that someone has the molds and is going to be re-releasing his kits. I forgot the persons name, but know he isn't new to resin. I have 3 of the Etzel kits, but now they're to expensive. With the re-release they won't be anymore. When I get more information on I'll post it.
Tom Geiger Posted January 25, 2014 Posted January 25, 2014 I got great news, Chris Etzel's Speed Classic kits are going to re-issued. If you haven't seen one of these resin kits, I can assure you there are none better. The new company is called American Racing Miniatures and they intend to release all of Etzel's old kits in the next 12-18 months. And they will be at NNL East.
horsepower Posted January 25, 2014 Posted January 25, 2014 Do you know if they intend to produce any of the wheel & tire combos that Etzel's made?
jas1957 Posted January 25, 2014 Posted January 25, 2014 Wow this is really good news. I have a couple of his kits unbuilt & a couple built. Now I'll get to fill in the missing ones.
Doctordarryl Posted January 25, 2014 Posted January 25, 2014 Great news. I will certainly look for them at NNLEast.
LDO Posted January 25, 2014 Posted January 25, 2014 (edited) Wow. I shouldn't have paid eBay prices for three Stutz Blackhawk LSRs. No sour grapes here, though. It's great that everyone will have the chance to get these kits again. I'm looking forward to getting some of the Millers and Duesenbergs. Edited January 25, 2014 by LDO
Art Anderson Posted January 27, 2014 Posted January 27, 2014 Do you know if they intend to produce any of the wheel & tire combos that Etzel's made? I can't see why not, given that the wheel/tire combo's Chris made were part of kits he also made. Now, it sure would be nice to be able to snag a couple of the 274 Offenhausers. Art
horsepower Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 I'd sure like to get a set or two of the early Champ car dirt tires & wheels.

jbwelda Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 they are...I got one. that's what kinda gave me pause when I saw this topic because I thought if anyone was going to do them it might be reps and mins, but he is probably too busy to take it on. whatever its gonna be great to have those kits available again; I wanted to buy one or more but just never got in the right place (in front of me) at the right time (with money burning a hole in my pocket). jb
Racephoto1 Posted January 28, 2014 Author Posted January 28, 2014 That was my problem . I was busy raising kids when they came out the first time. When I finally had money, he wasn't making kits.Well now I can buy the ones I don't have. I always wanted the Stutz more than any other, and got beat at least once by Lee on ebay, probably more than that for one. I don't have to worry about that anymore.

ZTony8 Posted January 29, 2014 Posted January 29, 2014 That announcement caused grumbling over on the open wheel board.Seems the grumblers are the ones who bought the kits several years ago and thought they would hold their value for later (high) resale. There's a lesson there.
Daddyfink Posted January 29, 2014 Posted January 29, 2014 I helped sell off quite a few resin kits from my friends collection after his passing, hate to say it, but glad we sold them when we did! But now I am stuck with a ton of decals for them!
randx0 Posted January 29, 2014 Posted January 29, 2014 But now I am stuck with a ton of decals for Not for long
Daddyfink Posted January 29, 2014 Posted January 29, 2014 I should put them up on the trade section, if there is any interest. I don't build Indy type cars. They are nice, but not my thing
kitbash1 Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 I should put them up on the trade section, if there is any interest. I don't build Indy type cars. They are nice, but not my thing You should post a list of what you've got, as there are more than a few Indycar builders and collectors on this board. Myself included.
Daddyfink Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 I think I'll do that. Will post notice when I do.
Racephoto1 Posted February 2, 2014 Author Posted February 2, 2014 American Racing Miniatures , do they have a website ? I've looked and didn't see anything, maybe I missed it.
