I started thus just before Christmas. I have been planning this build in my head for years and finally pulled the trigger.

I'm quite a ways on so I'll post pics from start to where it is now.

To age the wood I mixed black and white craft paint to make light gray. Then I thinned it a lot. I wiped the paint on the wood with a sponge, or paper towel or etc. and let it dry. I wanted each piece to look unique. This made the wood look aged. Then I uses variouis shades of black, charcoal and brown pastel chalk to dirty it up some more.

This is siting on the wooden base. I used charcoal pastel chalk to dirt up the outside of the garage. Most of the weathering on this project is from pastel chalk. I also started making boxes and other bits to put around the garage,

Neato! I've had a similar idea rattling around inside my head for years too, Jeff. Very nicely done. I'll be checking this out at NNL East!
