onescalenova Posted February 20, 2014 Posted February 20, 2014 A pair of neglected cousins, built from the well-known Lindberg kits.
kilrathy10 Posted February 20, 2014 Posted February 20, 2014 This is pretty darn cool....I've never had much of an interest in these kits, but this on looks just down right Awesome....The weathering is flawless and very convincing....Excellent work....Very nice, indeed....
charlie8575 Posted February 21, 2014 Posted February 21, 2014 They look so sad and forlorn, almost as if they're begging for someone to come along and restore them. Well done. Charlie Larkin
tbill Posted February 21, 2014 Posted February 21, 2014 wow, looks awesome! great weathering on that pair.
Casey Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 I've never been bold enough to try pulling off an L-700 build, but you sure did.
bobthehobbyguy Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 Very nice job. What method did you use for the rust? bobthehobbyguy
onescalenova Posted March 5, 2014 Author Posted March 5, 2014 Very nice job. What method did you use for the rust? bobthehobbyguy Hi Bob!I first painted with Tamiya xf9,then used liquid mask and salt to hide the "rusted" surfaces. When dry,I applied yellow, then unmasked everything.Several oil paint washes gave the shades in the rust.Hope this helps and thanks for the compliments!
A.R.C. Posted March 5, 2014 Posted March 5, 2014 Cool job! They look terrible, and I mean that in the most complimentary way. The rust on the small one looks real.
disabled modeler Posted March 12, 2014 Posted March 12, 2014 Not all builds have to be shinny to be great!...very cool!
