dragcarz Posted February 25, 2014 Posted February 25, 2014 So I had this poorly built AMT 32 Ford five window that someone chopped and converted to a three window coupe....not well executed, so I thought I'll make it a roadster. So I carefully cut the roof off and then compared it to an original AMT roadster. Interesting....the interior opening is larger and the deck is shorter, now what do I do with this?

gman Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 In full scale (as supplied by Henry), the roadster and 5 window shared many proportions- the deck, door length, quarter panels and pretty much everything other than the roof, door tops and cowl should be similar between the two. Looks like AMT goofed on more than just body height (but you have to love those oldies for what they were anyway) .

dragcarz Posted February 28, 2014 Author Posted February 28, 2014 Took a ton of sanding to make that hood fit, found better tires,39 Ford grille, and big headlamps... They seem too low here, I have got to add body character line to hood next. Starting it think about a windshield, Im a little out of my league here as I normally do drag cars. Any help appreciated.

dragcarz Posted July 3, 2014 Author Posted July 3, 2014 Couldn't make the 40 Ford hood fit to my liking,sooooo, I went more conventional. Here's where I'm at today. 50s modified roadster. Model Master Acryl Blue Angel Blue and Phoenician yellow, wheels and grill insert. Chrome was really worn on this build up so I decided to use color. It's getting close to being finished. Comments always welcome.
