Hey, Is that a Manx?

I finished this quite a while ago and thought I`d finally take a few shots to share. I had a good time building it. I have a good time building all my rides but some models are just more fun to do and this was at the top for fun factor. Its a Manx, how could it not be!!

Got a few mods to it as per usual. Re-shaped the fender edges all the way around to give the body a cleaner and subtley more aggressive shape. Chopped the windsheild 5mm. Freched tailights, Lowered the suspension, gave it big brakes and bigger rubber. The Centerline wheels are from the awfull awfull MPC Supercharger, the Webers from an old AMT 63 Vette, modified seats from a Lamborghini Reventon and the Exhaust is inspired by an old Matchbox Manx I had as a kid and scratchmade from some Aluminum tubing.

As I`ve said before I build every model the way I would if I had the chance to build a real one and I would looooove to terrorize the town in something like this.

Those wheels are ok but look better with a coat of Dullcoat. IMO

Geez, tough crowd . I actually thought the same thing about dullcoating them but have never sprayed Dullcoat straight onto chrome before and didnt want to risk screwing up the chrome.

I love it Adam, killer stance and look. I like the exhaust and have not seen it on a manx yet. Excellent build. I have one to build myself.

Yeah , I think we've all built at least one Manx recently . . . they're lots of fun !

I like what you did with this one , especially the painted windshield frame and the exhaust , looks really cool !

And DullCote works great on chrome , try it on an old part and see what you think .

I`m pretty happy with how it turned out. I`ll give some dullcoat on chrome a try one day on something but this ones gonna stay the way it is, the only way those wheels are coming apart is if it hits a wall at full speed.

You gotta build one Carl & Larry. You`ll enjoy it. You get a lot of optional parts to play with.

It's a nice little kit with potential, Just as much fun as building a real one, Here is my police version built from original release years ago. should have done B&W flames yours are neat

I like it wheels and all, they look a whole lot better than the 14 inch Crager SS wheels did. Used to see one quite similar to this one auto crossing, the guy had a Empi camber compensator on the back, instead of the swing axle climb it would squat down and slide through the corners. You nailed the stance for a hot street buggy too, used to see ones like yours in Hot VW's magazine in the late 70's and earl 80's. Lots of them had wide five Centerlines too.

Cool build on that Manx, and I use Dull-Cote over chrome all the time. It works great, especially over wheels, Moon tanks, front bumpers on race cars, etc. Makes the parts look like aluminum. Try it!
