Wanting to know what some of your wives do as a hobby. The reason I ask is because today at Hobby Lobby picking up some models and supplies my wife said " I need a hobby ". What better place to try and find one that at a hobby shop ? I suggested jigsaw puzzles, a big fat no. Paint by numbers, a big fat no. Candle making , a big fat no. She does do a fair amount of reading but I think she wants something she can do and have something to show for it. We didn't discover anything but thought perhaps some of you may have a suggestion and no she is not interested in model building. : ) Thanks for any ideas.

I am single but have seven sisters. Most of them scrap book, needle point, quilt or bug me as much as possible . If she can sew quilting is a big thing , but in Arizona you might not have a need for one Ray. LOL

Mine makes stained glass art. If you can find a stained glass store anywhere near you they usually have classes that teach you how to do it. My wife spends hours doing it and has all kinds of fun and is very proud of the things she makes. She makes them and gives them to family members and close friends as gifts. She has fun choosing subject matter and personalizing each one for the person it is intended for.

I always tell my wife that her hobby is buying stuff using her credit card...!!! She's gotten a lot better since we moved to PA, but when our grandson came along, she was kind of off and running again. She's cut down a lot though.

My wife crochets, spins and does rug hooking. We have 7 spinning wheels around the house, antique and modern. The rug is not wool type latch hooking but done with strips of fabric through burlap with either commercial designs printed on or her own designs traced on.

I have taken up modeling been watching my boyfriend do it and since I am creative gave it a whirl but I also enjoy photography, sketching, and belong to the horticulture society if she happens to like plants at all it`s very rewarding designing gardens landscaping making your own little oasis in your back yard:)

Thanks for the idea. My wife ( Debi ) would have a field day planning and doing our back yard. We bought the house we are in brand new about 7 years ago and still have not finished the back yard !

My wife comes from a long line of TV watchers. Nobody in her family has any hobbies and they thought it was odd that I did. The first time I showed her brother my model room, he exclaimed, "That's like WORK!" So you see the mind set.

Since my kids are grown and we moved to PA one of the neighbors got my wife to take up scrap booking, which in her case is more like assembling photo albums. She enjoys it and best of all, she's busy doing that while I'm working on models.

My wife says she does "Art", but I've never seen anything she's done .. in 40 years! She's ramping up lately and has taken over a whole room for "Art" and packages of "Art" material come every day. She bought a really nice (and expensive) worktable but it's covered with "Art" materials and I haven't seen it since it arrived. She's retiring soon, so maybe I'll finally learn what kind of "Art" she does.

As far as I'm concerned, her hobby is her widescreen TV. She wants a new TV for her "Art" Room because she can't see the TV while she's doing her "Art".

Aside from being an avid reader (my Wife can finish a book in 3 days….) she's also a heck of a crochet'er and an incredible baker and a very good cook. She's made me beautiful sweaters and delicious Cookies/Meals.

For example: Today is not only her home-made Spaghetti sauce, but home-made Pasta. Pure heaven!

I wish she would take up cooking/baking ! : ) So far I think scrap booking may be the one that suits her best. As long as it doesn't cut into my hobby money. : )

My wife has dabbled in ceramics, paint by numbers, macramé,wreathes, and a bunch of other things, but mainly she makes jewelry( and does a dog gone good job of it, too ! She tried building models; built two mustangs and took a couple trophies, then quit (????).... We enjoy travelling to Hobby Lobby, Pat Catans, and a lot of the other hobby / fabric stores together.Otherwise, we would kill each other ( GRIN )......'Z'

Mine has no real hobbies but she does like top cook...I did get her to build one model while we were dating still but that is as far as it went with modeling....too bad she did good for her first one which I still have.

MrsG is a runner. She and her brother ran all the local marathons for years until a knee injury sidelined her for quite a bit. She's back at it in a moderate way now. I guess you could say her level of fitness is what she can show for her efforts, oh and shoes, lots and lots of shoes.

Some interesting ideas here. Because summer is coming on and being that we live in Arizona she really needs an inside hobby. I just ordered her a paint by number off of ebay for her to try. She thought she would not care for it but agreed to give it a try. We shall see. Thanks guys.

My GF/Wifey collects angel figurines. It's relatively cheap as we get them at yard sales. The house is being over run by them and the model cars have staged a defensive posture against all the little figurines. I may have to build some armor/military kits to give the cars the advantage. Honestly though, she likes just being with me and doing things I do like going to car shows, helping me DJ and cooking stuff from scratch. I have not seen a boxed food for years. Even the pancakes are made from scratch. She makes home made bread, marinari sauce , pizza sauce and pizza dough, granola bars, smoothies...et al.

My wifes hobby is being a professional nagger. It always seems about the time I go to do some "quality" modeling time, the nagging starts. Other than that, possibly cooking.

Hmmm. My wife has done beading (making jewelry with beads and wire), making greeting cards, crocheting, quilting, cross stitch, needle point, stamping (rubber stamps with ink on paper), reading, watching craft shows on tv.

She's alot like me, what she does at any particular time depends on her mood and energy level.

Charlie, I knew some single girls once that religion was their hobby and last I remember those ladies are still single and I am a Christian guy. I would have stayed single if those girls was all that was left...
