Harry P. Posted March 21, 2014 Posted March 21, 2014 Wow! Talk about a garage find... this is almost impossible to believe: http://www.foxnews.com/leisure/2014/03/21/pristine-167-chevrolet-corvette-found-in-garage-to-be-auctioned/?intcmp=obnetwork
Modelmartin Posted March 21, 2014 Posted March 21, 2014 If it is too good to be true.....it often is.
Mark Posted March 21, 2014 Posted March 21, 2014 Wasn't this one for sale a couple of years ago? As I recall, it had extra medallions stuck in various places, like on the air cleaner and glove box door. Maybe the current owner took those things off.
Harry P. Posted March 21, 2014 Author Posted March 21, 2014 Wasn't this one for sale a couple of years ago? As I recall, it had extra medallions stuck in various places, like on the air cleaner and glove box door. Maybe the current owner took those things off. The story mentions that the couple who initially inherited it sold it in 2012. The current owner is now putting it up for auction.
wrecker388 Posted March 22, 2014 Posted March 22, 2014 I was just telling my dad about this thing the other day. Don't you just wish you were related to the owners of the cars that are found like this?
slusher Posted March 22, 2014 Posted March 22, 2014 Great looking car. Wish that would happen to me...
PappyD340 Posted March 22, 2014 Posted March 22, 2014 Regardless if the story is true or not, it's still a fine specimen of automobile in truely immaculate shape! I would certainly be proud to drive it!!
1930fordpickup Posted March 22, 2014 Posted March 22, 2014 I have read about this car before. Nice car , but I do not think it is a low mile car. I looked at all the other pictures from before , just does not add up.
7000in5th Posted March 22, 2014 Posted March 22, 2014 Great looking car, only 2996 miles. Valuable, but not much fun. My '63, also a great looking car, 53,000 miles. Not as valuable, way more fun.
Marcus M. Jones Posted March 22, 2014 Posted March 22, 2014 this post reminded me of this song by David Bell http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gh1m0eC1004 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gh1m0eC1004
charlie8575 Posted March 22, 2014 Posted March 22, 2014 Sharp machine. I'd build a model of that. Charlie Larkin
ToyLvr Posted March 22, 2014 Posted March 22, 2014 Good thing that it didn't find its way to the Corvette museum!
Modelmartin Posted March 22, 2014 Posted March 22, 2014 (edited) Always one in the bunch that just refuses to believe anything at face value. Beautiful car. A lifetime of experience has taught me to be skeptical. I got a bridge for you in Brooklyn! You want to buy it? Edited March 22, 2014 by Modelmartin
Modelmartin Posted March 22, 2014 Posted March 22, 2014 . My '63, also a great looking car, 53,000 miles. Not as valuable, way more fun. That makes sense because you are a fun loving guy!!!
ChrisBcritter Posted March 22, 2014 Posted March 22, 2014 (edited) Sharp machine. I'd build a model of that. Charlie Larkin And you wouldn't have to weather it! Wonder what the good doctor paid the neighbors for it? Bet they'll be kicking themselves when it gets auctioned. Then again, the doctor could have suffered some financial "oops" and needs the money worse than he needs the Vette, even after he takes a tax hit for capital gains. I've been there a few times on a way way smaller scale... Edited March 22, 2014 by ChrisBcritter
Ramfins59 Posted March 22, 2014 Posted March 22, 2014 My son-in-law's absolute favorite car is the '67 Vette. I sent this Link to my daughter telling her that if she REALLY, REALLY loves her hubby, she should bid on and win this Vette for him...... I know that's not gonna happen.
7000in5th Posted March 25, 2014 Posted March 25, 2014 That makes sense because you are a fun loving guy!!! Oh, yes. Unfortunately the '63 is long gone but I do have this fun machine (shown coming into Corner 5 at Road America): I've had 70,000 miles of fun with this one, all over the U.S. of A.
