Scalper Posted April 25, 2014 Author Posted April 25, 2014 Black Star is coming together. body is now glued on. Thanks for looking. Any tips on how to smooth the paint out would be great.
ZTony8 Posted April 25, 2014 Posted April 25, 2014 To smooth the paint use a polishing kit.Start with 3600 or 4000 grit depending on how much dirt or orange peel is in the clear coat. You can always go back to a 3200 or lower number grit if the finer cloth doesn't take away as much as you want to remove. Then continue up to the 12000 grit, then polish, then wax.
Scalper Posted April 25, 2014 Author Posted April 25, 2014 Great thanks Toni.. I will try and do that.
Duntov Posted April 26, 2014 Posted April 26, 2014 Andre--- this is some nice work you have here ---- very neat and clean build --- Keep going and please post more photos---I have a variant of this kit and I am interested in your progress!!! Regards Bill (Duntov)

Scalper Posted May 27, 2014 Author Posted May 27, 2014 Thanks Slusher.. 4 more Porsches to go after this one is done.
DavidG Posted May 29, 2014 Posted May 29, 2014 Maybe having problems with black paint is a scale Porsche thing. I had the same problems with this car: I shot it the first time and it orange peeled really badly. So I wet sanded it with 400 grit and took it back down to the primer. Just to make sure, I reshot the primer and then wet sanded the primer with 600 then 1000. It was smooth as a baby's butt. Then when I shot the black on it again, it went right back to orange peel.
Scalper Posted May 29, 2014 Author Posted May 29, 2014 Thanks Guys @DavidG who makes the convertable slant nose?
