StevenGuthmiller Posted April 26, 2014 Posted April 26, 2014 (edited) This is one of only a couple of "customs" I have in my collection. An AMT 1963 Ford Custom Cab pickup. I kept it relatively simple & did an "old school" type build. The engine is the original tri-carb motor that came with the kit with a few added details. The interior is pretty much bone stock. I just added a gear shift and plaid decals to the seats. The side trim has been removed from the body & a pinstripe added in the secondary color of '59 Pontiac "Cameo Coral". Tha body was painted Ford "Wimbeldon White" as well as the grille & bumpers. A real wood bed, a set of wide whites with painted stealies and inner trim rings & some custom side exhaust dumps round out the package. This Ford Still stands as one of my favorite builds. I had a great time building this one! Steve Edited April 24, 2018 by StevenGuthmiller 1
mike 51 Posted April 26, 2014 Posted April 26, 2014 Like all the models you've been sharing...very nice.
Guest Posted April 26, 2014 Posted April 26, 2014 (edited) That's a cool looking old truck Steven! I like the colors on it. The plaid decal on the seat is a cool touch. I just recently finished up a '61 and a '60 back in December and have a '62 that's stripped and waiting it's turn. I love the old uni body Ford pickups! Where did you source your plaid decal from? I would like to try one on my '62 since it has a similar seat in it. Edited April 27, 2014 by plowboy

StevenGuthmiller Posted April 27, 2014 Author Posted April 27, 2014 Thanks Guys! Roger, The decals on the seats are from "Scale Motorsports". They offer several upholstery seat pattern decals, every where from '69 Camaro "hounds tooth" to zebra & giraffe prints. Steve
Platerpants Posted April 28, 2014 Posted April 28, 2014 FORD!!! Nice job! a lil low but thats ok i can overlook that
StevenGuthmiller Posted April 28, 2014 Author Posted April 28, 2014 Thanks Jake! That's the look I was going for. I had to lower the front & move the front wheels forward a bit to get the stance I was looking for.
peekay Posted April 29, 2014 Posted April 29, 2014 Very tasteful custom - and with your trade-mark beautiful interior.
