Danno Posted May 13, 2014 Posted May 13, 2014 Neat idea. I'd also recommend chopping the windshield a little.
Kennyboy Posted May 23, 2014 Author Posted May 23, 2014 Haven't forgot you guys!............Life got in the way of putting up some good progress pics......... I have been sanding and filling constant on this one. Chopped the windshield down a scale 6 inches..... Also, I have started to cut out the doors and trunk too. Here are some updated pics:
Mooneyzs Posted May 23, 2014 Posted May 23, 2014 (edited) This is going to be an excellent build. I really like the direction you are going with it. It reminds me of a 1956 Chevy speedster that Chip Foose built for comedian Christopher Titus some years back. Looking forward to seeing more on this build. Keep up the great work. http://www.rodandcustommagazine.com/featuredvehicles/135_0310_foose_built_1956_chevrolet_roadster Edited May 23, 2014 by Mooneyzs
Kennyboy Posted May 23, 2014 Author Posted May 23, 2014 Thanks so much Chris! Trying to get an idea of what color to do it in.........Robin's egg blue?
majel Posted May 23, 2014 Posted May 23, 2014 Not generally a fan of lowered 57's but with the speedster center section ( especially the sweeping windshield) it looks fantastic!! Definitely the right look for the car, very cool idea!!
Mooneyzs Posted May 23, 2014 Posted May 23, 2014 Thanks so much Chris! Trying to get an idea of what color to do it in.........Robin's egg blue? Ken... You are welcome. Man I am not sure what to say on the color because there are so many great ones to use on this one. Were you thinking a single color or two tone??
DeeCee Posted May 23, 2014 Posted May 23, 2014 That looks so sweet, even in plain white, will be watching this one.
jsc Posted May 23, 2014 Posted May 23, 2014 Kind of makes me wonder if there was ever a convertible Chezoom!
Kennyboy Posted May 23, 2014 Author Posted May 23, 2014 For some reason I cant quote here at work........... That is a great idea Chris to do a two tone! Like aqua and white perhaps?? Thank you to the others who commented as well......I appreciate the support greatly!
GLMFAA1 Posted May 23, 2014 Posted May 23, 2014 Your Dremel must have taken dance lessons, That is very nice greg
Wonderbread Kustomz Posted May 23, 2014 Posted May 23, 2014 Glad your working on it... Aqua and white sounds like a perfect combo...
misterNNL Posted May 24, 2014 Posted May 24, 2014 Chopping that windshield was the right thing to do.You also maintained the curving sweptback look while do it.nice job.
Speedfreak Posted May 24, 2014 Posted May 24, 2014 Aqua and white sounds very interesting for this car!
Mooneyzs Posted May 24, 2014 Posted May 24, 2014 (edited) Ken... Aqua and white would be nice... Here are a few more two tone ideas Edited May 24, 2014 by Mooneyzs
Kennyboy Posted May 24, 2014 Author Posted May 24, 2014 Thank you for the inspiration Chris! I am moving forward on this......last night I went to Menards and got some blades for cutting out the remaining door. It worked SO good I had to share with you guys!! I used the Dremel Moto saw metal cutting blades which are very thin and not wavy like most jigsaw blades. You guys should try them!!
slusher Posted May 24, 2014 Posted May 24, 2014 For some reason I cant quote here at work........... That is a great idea Chris to do a two tone! Like aqua and white perhaps?? Thank you to the others who commented as well......I appreciate the support greatly! Aqua and whit sounds really good and don't forget the classic black and silver. Just had to throw that one in Ken...
bill_67 Posted May 25, 2014 Posted May 25, 2014 Kenny what every colour you decide will look good. Great body lines on this build!
Kennyboy Posted June 16, 2014 Author Posted June 16, 2014 Thank you so much for the kind words guys! Sorry I havent had any updates until now (Summer time is a little rough for build time.) Been working pretty hard (when I can) on the engine for this build......the Northstar Supercharged! Going to wire up the engine, do fuel rails and injectors, and wiring harnesses. The belt and pullies are from a Printer I stole parts from.
fitforbattle Posted June 16, 2014 Posted June 16, 2014 Those pullies and the belt looks spot on. Looks like a scale model company was part of the production of printers.
Wonderbread Kustomz Posted June 16, 2014 Posted June 16, 2014 Look great! Love the belt and pulley...
