I had one and I miss it. The rust monster ate the floor pans. Edited May 27, 2014 by lordairgtar
TFchronos Posted May 28, 2014 Posted May 28, 2014 (edited) Some really fine pics here. I agree with alot of you guys, the current Charger's design is nice but to for me it doesn't say Charger either. I always thought it should have been named the Coronet too. The front had more in common with the Coronets being slightly angled down to give it that angry look. While everyone's sharing pics of Chargers I would really like to get your thoughts on this design I made about a year ago. I tried to take the same approach Dodge did with the Challenger and applied it to the Charger as a what if design. Sorry for the graininess of the photo it's a rendered image of a 3D model. Harry P. Posted May 28, 2014 Posted May 28, 2014 Yep. I can buy that as a "Charger" any time. Very nicely done. Chrysler could easily have sold something like that as the "Charger," and a 4-door version with a different front end (more like their current "Charger") as a "Coronet" or even "Monaco."
Harry P. Posted May 28, 2014 Posted May 28, 2014 Here's one I did a few years ago when the new Charger came out. Not a ground-up new design, but changing the existing design to make it more "Charger."
TFchronos Posted May 28, 2014 Posted May 28, 2014 Here's one I did a few years ago when the new Charger came out. I like your version Harry, I would have bought one if it looked like that.
Tony T Posted May 28, 2014 Posted May 28, 2014 When the current Charger came out I thought they should have just used the Intrepid name...then do a 2-door as the Charger...I guess 2 retro 2-doors would be one too many for the bean counters?
slusher Posted May 29, 2014 Posted May 29, 2014 Agreed. Call it a Coronet or even a Monaco. But a Charger, to me, is always going to be a two-door coupe. I Like the charger 68 thru 73. Yes I agree harry they should be 2 door coupes.. Here's one I did a few years ago when the new Charger came out. Not a ground-up new design, but changing the existing design to make it more "Charger." Great looking version harry..
Danno Posted May 29, 2014 Posted May 29, 2014 Both of those are fine-looking, Charger-looking designs, Jonathan and Harry. Either would have been very successful and true to the lineage.

That's looks like a perfect retro Charger, much better than the 4 door version Dodge came up with.
Sledsel Posted December 9, 2015 Posted December 9, 2015 I am the oddball out, I have always been partial to this body style.
Deathgoblin Posted December 9, 2015 Posted December 9, 2015 The one my family had looked almost exactly like this one:
Maindrian Pace Posted December 9, 2015 Posted December 9, 2015 I bet that turns heads in England, and not just because of the size.
Nova-ss Posted December 9, 2015 Posted December 9, 2015 wow love the orange.I thought many times about building a street version of the general lee.
TFchronos Posted December 11, 2015 Posted December 11, 2015 Excellent job on that design Jonathan! That's looks like a perfect retro Charger, much better than the 4 door version Dodge came up with.Thank you Michael and Danno.
Nytrozilla Posted December 11, 2015 Posted December 11, 2015 Here's my favorite Charger. Wait, it this the "Show Off Your Old Builds" topic?
