afx Posted July 4, 2014 Posted July 4, 2014 (edited) Kit: Monogram Owens Corning Corvette Decals: Fred Cady - stripes & numbers, Kit decals - sponsors, Kieth Mark - emblems I have several period photos in my reference library of the OC sponsored Corvette of the ’69 season running with full windscreens and even hardtops. None of the photos are of this specific OC livery however. Regardless I chose to build my model with a full windscreen. This was built several years ago when my philosophy was less rigorous show we say. My approach now to vintage race car modeling is to build a specific car (chassis number) at a specific point in time. I hope you like it anyway. The build is based largely on an article in Motor Racing Replica News written by Bud Thon. A bit of trivia Bud Thon was an animator with Pixar. His work includes Toy Story and Finding Nemo. afx Posted July 14, 2014 Author Posted July 14, 2014 Good job. Especially setting the roll bar hoop back into the body. Good eye for the details! Regards Brian Kroon Thanks for noticing the roll bar mods. The kit parts are not entirely accurate. The MRRN article shows you what needs to be done.
