No pics due to traffic & safety considerations, but a dood was out cruising afternoon rush hour traffic in the Arrowhead area in his brand-new {paper plate from a dealer} candy red pearl McLaren 675LT.

Whoa!  Niiiiiiiiiiice!

But, Dood - rush hour traffic?

McLarens are perfectly safe in rush hour traffic, less likely to spontaneously combust like Ferraris or Lamborghinis.   I've seen a few McLarens in traffic around Scottsdale and Paradise Valley...

I wasn't worried about him.  It's all the Gomers and Gomerettes that treat afternoon rush hour traffic as a free-admission Roller-Ball / Mad Max / bumper car tournament and the no-insurance clapped-out econobox salvage-yard refugee berners sharing the streets with him, competing with everyone on the road for same asphalt square-footage.  Those low-information hordes swarming around him were the ones that concerned me - for his sake.

I don't even like driving my milk-toast Bureau car in the midst of those Neanderthal numbskulls.  And, I WON'T drive my vintage Malibu in amongst them.  A McLaren?  Unthinkable.

I'm sure the owner has good insurance.  If I had an exotic car, I'd drive it every chance I got... I'm glad my current commute doesn't involve freeways...cross town driving on Camelback or Lincoln is bad enough... it's funny, the most congested part of my commute is the last 2 miles...Missouri from 24th st to 10th st is brutal at 4:30-6 in the afternoons...sometimes takes me 20 min for just that 2 mile stretch..

Saw a solid '57 Ford Del Rio Ranch Wagon in pale green and white, just like the Revell box art kit except for the wheels and tires.    Also saw what appeared to be an early '40s Dodge or Plymouth pickup rat rod/rust rod from a distance parked down a side street..

Non raining Daily Driver..

I've seen him a lot towing a boat.. First time i've seen it parked and talked to the guy.

Couldn't help but notice this on my speedometer on the way home from work yesterday..................

Way too many sixes on there for my tastes! :D Now if the temp would have been 66 degrees outside....................... :o

Bill, you should have sped up to 60 just for the photo.

Ha! That would been just the time the borough police would have showed up out of nowhere and said GOTCHA! ;)

I was a couple blocks from home and the speed limit on my street is 25 MPH. Sometimes doing 30 is pushing it depending on who's on the beat at that particular moment.

One time at the supermarket deli counter, I pulled a ticket out of the machine that was 666.  I left the store immediately, went home and hid under the bed the rest of the day!

Maybe not such a good idea to be photographing your dashboard while driving down the street... :P

Yep. The fins above are some of the greatest and most distinctive ever made. I believe they may be the tallest ever put on a production car. The all mighty '59 Cadillac. Back in the day, only Cadillac could go over the top like that, and make it work!

It's bad luck to be superstitious.

Hmmm...........I dunno. I thought I read somewhere that Chrysler's 1961 Imperial had Cadillac beat. If I'm not mistaken by a ½" or so............

Either which way, they're TREMENDOUS and the last of their kind!

You might be right, I would need to do more research to confirm one way or another. It's always been my understanding it was '59 Caddy. But the Imperial above looks bigger. And agree with

Sometimes this web site doesn't always works the way it should. Now to finish the line I was trying write above: And I agree with Rob Hall that the '60 Plymouths fins have to be close too.

Huh?

Fixed it, I hope Harry. So you should be able to understand it.

A quick search on line, seems to indicate the '59 Cadillac's were the tallest. I may do more research. Just not now.
