cchapman195 Posted July 10, 2014 Posted July 10, 2014 Body was painted with Apple Barrel acrylic flat black. Then Future with Antique Copper pearl ex powder. Roof was painted with Apple barrel acrylic flat black. Then Future with Spring Green Pearl Ex powder. I then cleared with LA's totally awesome mop and shine acrylic floor polish. Chrome trim is aluminum foil held on with micro metal foil adhesive.

TooOld Posted July 10, 2014 Posted July 10, 2014 Very nice ! Refreshing to see a '53 built this nice . Your paint looks great too !
ssroczyn Posted July 10, 2014 Posted July 10, 2014 Nice Build!! And thanks for showing a car that has been painted using Future and Pearl Ex. I bought Pearl Ex quite a while back and I've been trying to experiment with it here and there every since. I've not had good luck and it's good to see someone have good luck with it. The car looks great! And I have hope that I can have a successful try myself! Question, Whenever I have tried to airbrush Future, I have found that it's too thin it seems and it starts to run on the surface of the car. Any tips on spraying future? Thanks and Again, Great Car! Steve
johnbuzzed Posted July 10, 2014 Posted July 10, 2014 Nice build; neat, clean and shiny. The foil looks great.

Steve I spray mine at 10 PSI and hold airbrush back 8-10 inches. I then spray light mist coats until desired shine. Here is a how to I did on spraying future. Thanks all for the kind comments.

cchapman195 Posted July 11, 2014 Author Posted July 11, 2014 Beautiful job, is this a Revell or Monogram kit? Revell Lowrider series.
OldTimer50707 Posted July 11, 2014 Posted July 11, 2014 Chris, I followed this build on Youtube and was amazed at your workmanship. This is s fantastic looking '53.
hookedonplastics Posted July 11, 2014 Posted July 11, 2014 Fantastic build Chris! I have been wanting to try the Pearl Ex powder method. How much powder to you add to how much clear?
cchapman195 Posted July 11, 2014 Author Posted July 11, 2014 Thanks again everybody. Lee Burrows, thanks for watching. Russ Rydberg, I use 1/2 ounce of future and put the pearl powder in equivalent to a kits single carb. LOL, that's about the only way to give a visual amount. Hope that helps.
Lovefordgalaxie Posted July 12, 2014 Posted July 12, 2014 Great job Chris!! You were very happy on the color choices.
