don't know how big of news this is for all you folks, but Lebron James is coming back to Cleveland. this town is really buzzing right now. they say it comes in three's.....

1 - Johnny Manziel

2 - Republican national convention

3 - LeBron James

maybe soon we can put the burning river behind us.

Would they even have him back with the way he left? I'd be tempted to tell him to tell him to shove it.

he did turn his cheek to Cleveland, but I really believe it was pushed by television, agents, union.... all in the name of M-O-N-E-Y !!! whoever broadcasted that back then made a killing. I don't believe it was his idea.

I think LeBron wanted some championships. Miami went 2 for 4 and I think it looked bad with the talent they had. Its good for Cleveland that their back together..

Back to the mistake on the lake eh?

Meh

c'mon, our river caught on fire, we deserve that title. i have not heard that term in a long time, but i have to call it home. the season is almost sold lot already, last i heard, there are a little over 12,000 tickets left.... for the season !! that's great!! there are plans for new restaurants, real estate prices for downtown building is climbing. it really is unbelievable how 1 man can effect an entire cities economy. yes i am not a basketball fan, this town has been so close to a championship, this town deserves a championship, hope it happens to the Browns first!!

All my family is from either Cleveland or Columbus. Two cousins were Cleveland cops and one was a cop in Aurora. Cleveland PD was considered in my job search way back when but they paid pretty bad. I'm an Ohio State alum so I call Columbus my second home. Nowadays I wouldn't hesitate to move to Cuyahoga or Lake County.

grew up in Cuyahoga county (not sure if you'd want to move back there. kind of gone downhill). now i live just outside of Aurora in Portage county. Aurora is nice, too expensive for me. used to see Jim Thome in the Marc's discount store there every once in a while when he was still playing for the tribe. great guy.

if you'd like to trade places Wayne, just let me know, that Las Vegas sun would do wonders for my psoriasis... not so well for my wallet.

thats ok,don't matter to me about their personal life or what people think of them, i dont really care if they are jerks or not, just do it between the lines, that's all i want. like Al Davis once said "just win baby". i could type a list a mile long of all the "jerks" in sports, they have to live their life, not me.

I've heard of the troubles, still it'd be great being closer to family.

It is sunny here  ! A major weather event most times is a cloud.

It's a bit more expensive living here in some areas, cheaper in others. No state taxes at all, but DMV registration fees are astronomical. Car insurance is off the chain high. Real estate is expensive in the metro areas, cheaper in outlying regions.

If you don't gamble you can do just fine living here after the initial shock of home prices. B)

Tubbs, CC is okay depending on your lifestyle. Taxes are high but amenities close. Hated when LBJ left but glad he's back. JM is a second string QB. When he earns his wings I'll root for him too, but right now I don't even read about him. Thanks for the NE Ohio love everyone. We get a bad rap but really its a great place to raise a fam.

can't agree more. lived here all of my almost 55 years, like anyplace, good points and bad. too bad industry and just general work has moved on. lots of steel and auto plants closing around me.

hey Dennis, I know the Shaker area pretty well. don't know how old you are, but I was weaned on Randall Park Mall. worked there from 79 to 84ish.great place. better than night clubs for meeting girls, especially when you sold women's shoes......

but I digress...

sports as well as downtown economy looking up with just the addition of 2 people. I agree with Johnny being second string, just don't know how long the leash will be on Hoyer.

Lebron and Manziel. Congrats Cleveland, you have a couple jerks as your sports poster boys.

LeBron James is the kind of jerk I want on my team..! If you were in his shoes and were an Akron kid playing in the NBA and had a chance to play in Miami..wouldn't you..?!

He donated 1 million dollars to renovate Akron St.V's gym and locker room... and does more charity work in Akron like donating bicycles to kids who do good in school...!

Man what a JERK....?

He turned his back on Cleveland in pursuit of championships. If his hometown meant that much to him he would have stayed. He looked like a fool on 'the decision' too.

Manziel on the other hand looks like the second coming of Ryan Leaf.

hey Jake, I agree and disagree with you.

LeBron, I feel did not turn his back on Cleveland, he single handedly brought us to 2 championships and the Cavs, in my opinion, did not put enough firepower around him to get the job done. NOBODY ever talks about the other 11 guys who failed on those 2 teams, just the way that LeBron failed. if I am the best at what I do, and I have a chance to get the ultimate goal, I am taking it. as far as the decision goes, yes, that is on his shoulders, but I think it wasn't his idea totally, people saw the chance to make money and they took it.

as far as your statement.... "Manziel on the other hand looks like the second coming of Ryan Leaf" well, lets just say I will be rooting for him not to fail. Cleveland has missed on too many picks, I hope this is not one of them. I still think he was picked to deflect attention away from Haslam. not solely, but it was a big part.

I'm a fan of Cleveland. Not a die-hard, just a fan. But I hate how now we have Lebron; "We're going to the championship" How we have Manziel (who mind you, has never played a play in the NFL, and college is a lot different than the NFL, so if he thinks he can just run around and do stuff like he did in college, he'll get smashed. And also at A&M, he had a good team around him. It wasn't just him who was good; the whole team was really good [i don't know if you guys realize but we don't really have the best line... and Manziel isn't single-handedly going to bring us to the SuperBowl. He's going to need other people to help him. It's not like basketball where you can take a team single-handedly to the championship.] And also, he won the Heisman as a red-shirted freshman; which mean when he was a actual freshman, he didn't play. He won it as a sophomore, but was "technically" a freshman, when he wasn't, and the media ran with it and made it sound like he was a true freshman, which he wasn't...) and now we're going to the SuperBowl...

As Jon Stewart said... It's kind of scary when the happiest place on earth is Cleveland.

Valid points. Being the star of a team means you get all the glory when you win but also get the blame for the shortcomings. I'm not blaming Lebron for joining the Heat. I just think that if he can bring a championship to Cleveland it will mean more than his championships in Miami.

On the other hand I do no like Manziel. I think he is an arrogant little punk. But he could very well be the next great qb. I think the hype is too much too soon since he has no NFL experience under his belt yet and college success doesn't mean NFL success. Ask tmobile employee Tebow.

all valid points that I can't disagree with. they say it's a close race between the 2 QB's. either way, Manziel's antics don't bother me. as long as your not hurting anyone (Ray Rice) you can do what you want in your personal life, just throw touchdowns when it matters for me. there are a lot of idiot players out there. I guess money and a lot of talent does that to some people. you have to have a certain level of arrogance in you, you have to think you are better than the man across from you. but you have to say something about the Jerry Rice, Joe Thomas types also. that's why I try to keep my focus on what happens between the white lines, in any sport.

GO CLEVEAND!!

its already August, the first pre-season game is right around the corner.

hehe, how do you really feel about him Jake, Jake from state farm (sorry, I think that commercial is great). I agree with what you say 100% LeBron has to take the geers with the cheers!!

with Manziel, to quote you "But he could very well be the next great qb" I hope that is true. takes the spotlight all year and breaks every offensive stat there is. what do you think you will see from him then. he will be bashing every club that passed on him, that is for sure!!
