curt raitz
After seeing a gazillion motorcycles in Hollister over the 4th of July weekend, I got inspired to build a bike. Had an old springer front end laying around along with a tear-drop gas tank and electronics pack from Replicas & Minmiatures. Made up a set of wire wheels, trick exhaust and seat - this is what I came up with: Thanx for lookin'...

Dragline
That's killer Curt. The motor is a little too modern for my taste but your overall scheme is dramatic. If it had a Knuckle or Shovel it would be perfect. Bob
curt raitz
I love to build a Knucklehead and/or a Shovel...just where do you find them in 1/12th scale
Dragline
I know the IMAI and Imex kits have shovels in them, I have quite a few. Most of them represent late 70's early 80's bikes which all had shovelheads. The only Knuckleheads are in the Revell chopper series which are getting stupid in terms of money on Fleabay. I keep an eye and they never go cheap. But perhaps a gluebomb would be a bit cheaper. The Imai and Imex kits can be had cheap enough. I have 3 projects in various planning stages in the works and I'm basing them completely on those kits. Since I have a rigid Shovelhead I plan on constructing a replica of it as well as one of my Pops older bikes as well. I think there are a couple in 1/12 that have Panheads in them as well. I think i need to look tonight and see. They are great places to start. Bob Edited July 23, 2014 by Dragline

jbwelda
so what scale is this? 1/12? when I first was looking at it I thought it was 1/25 and I was amazed at the fidelity of detail! its hard to tell the scale because frankly it looks total 1:1. jb
curt raitz
I love the look. Very nice work! What scale is it? Sorry, I just assumed everybody knew that all motorcycle kits are 1/12th scale... It is 1/12th scale, based off the Revell series so what scale is this? 1/12? when I first was looking at it I thought it was 1/25 and I was amazed at the fidelity of detail! its hard to tell the scale because frankly it looks total 1:1. jb William, it is 1/12th scale
