maltsr Posted July 26, 2014 Posted July 26, 2014 Revell of Germany kit, goes together well, nice shiny decals. Tamiya gloss white, no clear.
Nacho Z Posted July 26, 2014 Posted July 26, 2014 I like it Paul. I really like these kits and it looks like you hit a home run with this one!
peter31a Posted July 27, 2014 Posted July 27, 2014 Sweet Bimmer! I love these DTM cars from Revell Germany and you did a great job on this one. Kudos.
Belugawrx Posted July 27, 2014 Posted July 27, 2014 Wow that is way cool Nice job on the decals.. Do those wing struts really go on top of the wing? Just me I guess Nicely done Cheers
Jaguar man 21 Posted July 27, 2014 Posted July 27, 2014 (edited) Looks great dtm cars always have an evil look to them with all of the splitters and wings Edited July 27, 2014 by Jaguar man 21
DrKerry Posted July 27, 2014 Posted July 27, 2014 I just picked this kit up a week ago. Can't wait to get into it!!!!! Great build on yours!!!
Danno Posted July 27, 2014 Posted July 27, 2014 Nice model. You'd think BMW could have put a little more styling effort into the body cladding around the wheel wells. Looks pretty amateurish.
JPS_Lotus Posted July 27, 2014 Posted July 27, 2014 Great job! After seeing this, I definitely want to do this kit now. Love the decals on it.
maltsr Posted July 27, 2014 Author Posted July 27, 2014 Nice model. You'd think BMW could have put a little more styling effort into the body cladding around the wheel wells. Looks pretty amateurish. I have no interest in 1:1 street BMWs but it is the styling of these DTM cars that attracts me to them. They seem to apply a backyard hot rod ethos to the design, although I guess they are wind tunnel tested. For example, they simply cut away 6 to 8 inches from the bottom of the doors to accommodate exhausts/aerodynamic aids, similar to Stone, Woods and Cook removing several inches from the bottom of their coupe to save weight. Thanks for the compliments guys, these are great kits to build.
Harry P. Posted July 27, 2014 Posted July 27, 2014 Do those wing struts really go on top of the wing?
LittleDrummerBoy Aka LDB Posted July 27, 2014 Posted July 27, 2014 Great work! I need to find one of these kits.
Darbo Posted July 27, 2014 Posted July 27, 2014 Looks like I am going to have to get one of these also! Great build by the way!
DynoMight Posted July 28, 2014 Posted July 28, 2014 Always liked these types of cars. Never built a model of them though, great job. Really shiny for no clear! Did you polish it at all?
maltsr Posted July 28, 2014 Author Posted July 28, 2014 Thanks Glenn, I was lucky, the wet coats went down smooth and no dust bunnies - just a light polish is all it needed.
