mrmike Posted August 3, 2014 Posted August 3, 2014 This is my '67 Chevelle SS396 with polished light blue metallic plastic and a matching interior. The engine is wired and plumbed. The kit wheels were replaced with a set of Cragar SS mags and the tires have Shabo Tire Graphics.
ERIK88 Posted August 3, 2014 Posted August 3, 2014 Nice chevelle love the paint and interior . I have a few dry transfers from shabo. Hope they set as neat as yours
Byron5150 Posted August 3, 2014 Posted August 3, 2014 This an amazing build for sure!! Just got done over viewing the build process. Definitely cool!!
peekay Posted August 3, 2014 Posted August 3, 2014 Looks really great and that interior is highly realistic. Nice work!
Dragfreak Posted August 4, 2014 Posted August 4, 2014 The body looks amazing, did you clean up mold lines then just start polishing?
Maxicoop Posted August 4, 2014 Posted August 4, 2014 that's one sweet lookin' ride .......love the color and the detail ......great build !!!!!
W-409 Posted August 4, 2014 Posted August 4, 2014 I thought polished plastic would never look this good, but you proved me wrong. Nice work with the Chevelle overall. I like the wheels and tires and your detailing is very sharp looking in the engine bay, too. Maybe slight black wash to the panel lines would make it even better, but anyway it looks fantastic just like that, too!
Chris White Posted August 4, 2014 Posted August 4, 2014 wow, that is just plane nice, really well done.
PappyD340 Posted August 6, 2014 Posted August 6, 2014 That's one sharp and very clean Chevelle Mike, well done!!
mrmike Posted August 7, 2014 Author Posted August 7, 2014 Thanks guys! The body looks amazing, did you clean up mold lines then just start polishing? Yes, I did. The body was molded in color with very few flaws and I liked the color, so why bother painting if only than to change the color? I thought polished plastic would never look this good, but you proved me wrong. Nice work with the Chevelle overall. I like the wheels and tires and your detailing is very sharp looking in the engine bay, too. Maybe slight black wash to the panel lines would make it even better, but anyway it looks fantastic just like that, too! In the past, I have tried to darken panel lines with less than satisfactory results. I chose not to darken the panels lines until I can get a better grip on darkening them.
bbowser Posted August 7, 2014 Posted August 7, 2014 Very nice model! Perhaps my favorite year Chevelle, in the best color!
om617 Posted August 8, 2014 Posted August 8, 2014 Very clean Chevelle. I had no idea you could get such nice result from only polish the body.
mrmike Posted August 9, 2014 Author Posted August 9, 2014 Thank you guys! Very clean Chevelle. I had no idea you could get such nice result from only polish the body. Just as long as the colored plastic has no swirls or marks in the plastic, you can polish it to a very nice shine.
TFchronos Posted August 9, 2014 Posted August 9, 2014 Wow, never knew polished bare plastic could look so good. Amazing job!
Bob Ellis Posted August 9, 2014 Posted August 9, 2014 Wow, that Revell kit builds a very nice '67 SS396.
