Little Timmy
Hey guy's . I just "stumbled into this thread a few day's ago and dont know if there are any rule's . Like : get the answer right and then you can post a song of your own ? ( I wasnt sure what I was suppose to do ... ) Plus , this thread is over 275 page's long. So I'm not going through each page to see if a song has been / will be duplicated. So here's my contribution.... ( let the "chip's" fall where they may ...) The Sun don't shine The Moon don't move the tide's to wash me clean Why so unforgiving, and why so cold Been a long time crossing ......................... A cold wind blow's The God's look down in anger on this poor child ...
Little Timmy
No taker's ? How about a hint or two... The year : 1974 . This was the band's second album. Only three band member's. Early printings of the original album cover had the front image upside-down and were more greenish in colour. There kinda like Jimmy Hendrix.... but not. It's a pretty obscure song (except maybe to Monkees fans) but I think one of their best penned by Mike Nesmith!
iamsuperdan
I grew around 60s and 70s pop & rock, so probably got a little more exposure to this stuff that others. The Monkess always fascinated me even though I was never a huge fan. Fabricated for tv, became real, had Jimi Hendrix open for them, etc. Pretty neat story. So this means I have to come up with some lyrcis now right? Okay, putting the thinking cap on...

I was a big fan at the time--watched the show, bought the model, had the first two, maybe three of their albums. But then I was 12, so don't hold that against me. Some of their music actually holds up today. Nesmith was actually a competent, respected musician, and some of their songs were written by names you'd recognize, such as Neil Diamond.
