Together we'll climb to the highest prop,

Tear it down and let it drop"

Sounds like the opening drag engine noise from a 60's Drag/Surf song. I just can't figure out which one LOL

Ok, here is a hint - One of the band members is described as being the master of the ticky ticky guitar. Once you hear it you will know definitely know it.

The Ventures - Pipeline.

Good enough.  Actually it was the Chantays the did the original but I always liked the Ventures better.  It just seemed a little cleaner.

Wow, Just for fun I looked up what were some of the "Pop" tunes an equal amount of time between today to when Pipeline came out to before it. 3 of the Top Tunes back then were:

Let Me Call You Sweetheart, America the Beautiful and By the Light of the Silvery Moon. Anyone else feeling a tad older than they did a few minutes ago?

"Well, the proud daddy only want to give his little girl the best.
So he put down a grand on a cozy little lover's nest.
You could have called the reception an unqualified success...
at a posh hotel for a hundred and fifty guests."

I'm sure this is Dave Edmunds. I Knew the Bride When She Used to Rock & Roll?

You see that star over yonder? Straight on 'till morning,

We're not lost, no, we're just exploring,

and the forest is beautiful, lush and majestic

with lots of tasty mushrooms, go on and test it...............

Noone will ever guess this one! It's "Pirates" by a lady who calls herself Gabby LaLa....... She's kind of a Lady Gaga parody.............

Correct. Nick Lowe also recorded a version of it. In fact I'm pretty sure Nick Lowe wrote it, but Dave Edmunds recorded it before Nick Lowe did.

How about this one?

Casey Jones he was a mighty man
But now he's resting in the promised land
The kind of music he could understand
Was an eight wheel driver under his command

Yes.

This cover version by The Rockin' 8 Balls is definitely the best:

I've seen that band once in person and it's one of the bests!

Head on down to your neighbors place, see that dull expression on his face,

You'd be doing him a favor if you brought him to me, He's not using his brain he's just watching TV...........

But there's no England now.
All the wars that were won and lost

This might be an easy one...?

Well, Jack and Jill went uptown
Jill come back with the others, jumpin' around
Say ooh, he-he-hey, he-he-hey
Rock woodpecker, let's rock

There's a suitcase poking me in the ribs, there's an elbow in my ear,

There's a smelly old bum standing next to me who hasn't showered in a year,

Well, I think I'm missing a contact lens, I think my wallet's gone,

And I think this bus is stopping again to let a couple more freaks get on,

Look Out!
