Ira
Cut The Front! The front of the Beast looked too wide after the Top Chop. So I marked it for some Cutting. I cut out the slot with a Cut-Off Wheel. Glued it back together with Zap-A-Gap. That's more like it... More Coming...

Ira
Not much of the bus is left. What is your plan for colors? I Could Cut Off a Little More... I think it will be Yellow & Black with Mooneyes Decals...

Ira
Rear Window... I forgot to mention I wanted to enlarge the Rear Window. I cut out the Window with a Cut-Off Wheel. Then I cleaned it up with an X-Acto Knife, Sanding Boards and a File. Here it is after the Top Chop. More Coming...

Ira
I also thought about the resemblance to a very streamlined train engine. With all of the parts you have removed from the original kit you have still managed to retain some of the product identity by keeping the side spear the V shape of the front end and the cool windshield shape. Going to be another epic model when completed!! Thanks for the kind words Tom! So glad you like it...

Ira
Tight Fit! After narrowing the front end, I realized I needed to hollow out the Body a bit to Fit the Chassis inside. I used a Drum Sander in the Dremel Tool to grind down the plastic strip and high spots in the body. Still need to remove a little more from the inside to fit the Chassis in. I had to do some Heavy Sanding on the Chassis too but I finally got a Great Fit! More Coming...
DonW
I was just wondering what had happened to this! Now I know. How will the driver get in and out? (I know, there isn't really a driver, it's a model - but you know what I mean!) Edited October 16, 2014 by DonW

KingSix
Have you ever driven a real VW bus ? they're tough to get used to because you're sitting forward of the steering , this'd be like being strapped on the tip of a rocket and trying to steer with a rudder ... hahahahha AWESOME !!! Ira
It's Back In! I finally got the Chassis to fit back in the body! Here are a few progress shots. It's a close fit, but not too tight... The Roll Cage really fills up the cockpit now. More Coming...
