Ira Posted September 30, 2014 Author Posted September 30, 2014 Great project, very unique man Thanks Danny!
Ira Posted October 1, 2014 Author Posted October 1, 2014 Cut The Front! The front of the Beast looked too wide after the Top Chop. So I marked it for some Cutting. I cut out the slot with a Cut-Off Wheel. Glued it back together with Zap-A-Gap. That's more like it... More Coming...
cobraman Posted October 1, 2014 Posted October 1, 2014 You keep cutting and you won't have anything left ! : )
1930fordpickup Posted October 1, 2014 Posted October 1, 2014 The master at work, looking better with every cut of the saw.
Nitrozilla Posted October 1, 2014 Posted October 1, 2014 It's HACKTASTIC! It's SLICERIFFIC! It's SAWMAZING! It's CUT.....something! It's Ira. We expect nothing less. Show dat plastique who's boss.

Ira Posted October 1, 2014 Author Posted October 1, 2014 Not much of the bus is left. What is your plan for colors? I Could Cut Off a Little More... I think it will be Yellow & Black with Mooneyes Decals...
Ira Posted October 2, 2014 Author Posted October 2, 2014 It's starting to look like a train...XD. Great job so far Ira Thanks Joseph!
Ira Posted October 2, 2014 Author Posted October 2, 2014 Rear Window... I forgot to mention I wanted to enlarge the Rear Window. I cut out the Window with a Cut-Off Wheel. Then I cleaned it up with an X-Acto Knife, Sanding Boards and a File. Here it is after the Top Chop. More Coming...

Ira Posted October 3, 2014 Author Posted October 3, 2014 Ira, your welcome....and as you already know...it just "looks right" now. Cheers..Tim Thanks Tim!
oldnslow Posted October 4, 2014 Posted October 4, 2014 You keep whackin' on that thing and the engine isn't going to fit!
Ira Posted October 4, 2014 Author Posted October 4, 2014 I also thought about the resemblance to a very streamlined train engine. With all of the parts you have removed from the original kit you have still managed to retain some of the product identity by keeping the side spear the V shape of the front end and the cool windshield shape. Going to be another epic model when completed!! Thanks for the kind words Tom! So glad you like it...
Ira Posted October 4, 2014 Author Posted October 4, 2014 Ira the chop really makes it look better. I could see this breaking speed records. Very Streamline. Thanks Carl!
Ira Posted October 5, 2014 Author Posted October 5, 2014 You keep cutting and you won't have anything left ! : ) Oh Oh!
Ira Posted October 8, 2014 Author Posted October 8, 2014 The master at work, looking better with every cut of the saw. Thanks for the kind words Andy!
Ira Posted October 11, 2014 Author Posted October 11, 2014 It's HACKTASTIC! It's SLICERIFFIC! It's SAWMAZING! It's CUT.....something! It's Ira. We expect nothing less. Show dat plastique who's boss. Thanks Joe! Finished RRRobot, so I'll be getting back to the Beast tomorrow...
Ira Posted October 15, 2014 Author Posted October 15, 2014 Tight Fit! After narrowing the front end, I realized I needed to hollow out the Body a bit to Fit the Chassis inside. I used a Drum Sander in the Dremel Tool to grind down the plastic strip and high spots in the body. Still need to remove a little more from the inside to fit the Chassis in. I had to do some Heavy Sanding on the Chassis too but I finally got a Great Fit! More Coming...
DonW Posted October 15, 2014 Posted October 15, 2014 (edited) I was just wondering what had happened to this! Now I know. How will the driver get in and out? (I know, there isn't really a driver, it's a model - but you know what I mean!) Edited October 16, 2014 by DonW

KingSix Posted October 17, 2014 Posted October 17, 2014 Have you ever driven a real VW bus ? they're tough to get used to because you're sitting forward of the steering , this'd be like being strapped on the tip of a rocket and trying to steer with a rudder ... hahahahha AWESOME !!!
Ira Posted October 17, 2014 Author Posted October 17, 2014 It's Back In! I finally got the Chassis to fit back in the body! Here are a few progress shots. It's a close fit, but not too tight... The Roll Cage really fills up the cockpit now. More Coming...
