Snake45 Posted September 7, 2014 Posted September 7, 2014 (edited) Oh, I thought you meant model cars with wings. But I guess you meant stuff like this: Here's the cleverest "roadable airplane" I've ever seen. Edited September 7, 2014 by Snake45
cobraman Posted September 7, 2014 Posted September 7, 2014 That second photo made me laugh out loud. How stupid does that look ?
Ace-Garageguy Posted September 7, 2014 Posted September 7, 2014 (edited) How about this? ...or this... A more-wing-than-car concept? Some Alfas, maybe? Edited September 8, 2014 by Ace-Garageguy
Ace-Garageguy Posted September 7, 2014 Posted September 7, 2014 Fan blades as "wings" (they ARE an airfoil section...) ?
cobraman Posted September 7, 2014 Posted September 7, 2014 I have always loved those BAT cars. No kits I have found other than a 1/43 and an expensive 1/25 I see on ebay every so often.
GLMFAA1 Posted September 7, 2014 Posted September 7, 2014 Wasn't that the car that inspired Duntov to do the split window 63 vette ?
Joe Handley Posted September 7, 2014 Posted September 7, 2014 (edited) Winged cars huh.......... Edited September 7, 2014 by Joe Handley
Joe Handley Posted September 7, 2014 Posted September 7, 2014 And yes, that's real! http://thequirkyglobe.blogspot.com/2011/04/gull-winged-rolls-royce-goes-on-sale-at.html?m=1
unclescott58 Posted September 7, 2014 Posted September 7, 2014 Wasn't that the car that inspired Duntov to do the split window 63 vette ? Bill Mitchell. Duntov hated the the window divider in the '63. Part of the reason it lasted only one year. And the Bats were just one of many inspirations for the '63 Stingray. Scott
unclescott58 Posted September 8, 2014 Posted September 8, 2014 (edited) I wonder if they make a wing like that for my Buick? Scott Edited September 8, 2014 by unclescott58
Austin T Posted September 8, 2014 Posted September 8, 2014 I love the BAT's design. The rear of it always makes me think of a '63 split window that had the edges rolled in and the trunk pulled down, almost like it suffered serious heat damage.
