Ace-Garageguy Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 Powered by an un-inverted Ranger V-770 air-cooled 12-cylinder aircraft engine of WW II vintage. Pretty cool.
GLMFAA1 Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 Just had to Google this and see the origin of this engine, Got a new history lesson as I thought it was only the Germans with the inverted engines in the planes to give the pilot better forward vision, It was neat to find out art Arfon's original green monster was this engine and was propeller driven aka the baloney slicer. I noted two different tops on the engine, any idea what's up? greg
bobthehobbyguy Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 If you google blastolene you can see more of this and some of the artists other projects. The engine has a decorative cover which is on the engine in some of the shots.
blunc Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 as over the top as the rest of Blastolene creations but it has so many interesting elements...hard to look away
Danno Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 So very far beyond cool . . . unimaginable!
Jantrix Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 Those Blastolene guys are just off the charts as was as artistry and outrageousness. Love it.
bobthehobbyguy Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 Ed Roth on steriods. Except all metal and driveable. Sculpture on wheels. Interesting to see how much is done in wood before commiting to metal.
