mangodart Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 Hi guys, her I am with a new built. A 70 Rebel The Machine, built from a Johan kit. It's a car I wanted to reproduce for a long time, might be good for me to wait as the decals part became quite a nightmare, it became like powder when I put them ont the body... And that wasn't the original one but an aftermarket sheet... Anyway I try my best to save it and I'm quite happy of the results, I let you judge !!! Some improvement on the engine bay and on the chassis. Tires are the new AMT package, and are exactly the good ones for the car. Hope you'll like it
JTalmage Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 Great job. Always loved these little oddball cars
Austin T Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 Nice build, I'd love to get my hands on one of these.
GMCMAN52 Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 really like the build, I've been trying to get my hands on that kit for years
gtx6970 Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 I like this one a lot. Very well done build of a kit thats getting tough to come up with
Maxicoop Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 super lookin' Rebel ...... haven't seen one of those for a long time !!!!!! fantastic BUILD !!!!!!!!!!!!
Modelbuilder Mark Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 Looks good. Decals can be a pain for sure, but still turned out nice.
peekay Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 That is really nice!!! One contributing reason why these kits are rare: I once threw TWO of them in the trash! I'd bought them for about $5 each, needed to make some room, and didn't think it worth the effort to try and sell them.
1930fordpickup Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 Good to see a valuable collector kit made into a nice model.
High octane Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 Really nice job on that Rebel as I just saw one built up at our club meeting last night. However, it didn't look nearly as nice as yours. Great job!
mangodart Posted September 12, 2014 Author Posted September 12, 2014 Thanks for all the nice comments !!! I was lucky enough to find this kit in the 80ies while I was still a teenager, for a reason I can't explain ( or remember ) I decide to keep it unbuilt until now....I also find a built model a few years ago which is gonna be restored but with a classic paint scheme
Force Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 Great build. I like the special "Hurst" Ramber/AMC cars, both the Hurst Rambler S/C and this one.
Speedfreak Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 Nice job Emmanuel! Great memories from the muscle car years. You did a fine job. Did AMC call this car ' The Machine?
mangodart Posted September 13, 2014 Author Posted September 13, 2014 Nice job Emmanuel! Great memories from the muscle car years. You did a fine job. Did AMC call this car ' The Machine? Thanks, yes that was it's name, they first think of painted it mat black, there's a prototype like this, but finally the first thousand cars were painted this scheme and the other could be afford at every color of the catalog
