Snake45 Posted October 3, 2014 Posted October 3, 2014 Does the Mako Shark count, or were you going for "homebuilt" rods and customs?

om617 Posted October 3, 2014 Posted October 3, 2014 Not sure if it count ,but the Cadillac custom owned/driven by ZZ Top guys are awsome.

gbdolfans Posted October 3, 2014 Posted October 3, 2014 Love the Manta Ray!!! I had a slot car of it way back in the slot car days. Wish someone made a reasonable model!!!!
Draggon Posted October 3, 2014 Posted October 3, 2014 (edited) The manta ray and uncertain are at the top of my list. Also, I always liked this one. Must be the dragster profile. Edited October 3, 2014 by Draggon
johnbuzzed Posted October 3, 2014 Posted October 3, 2014 (edited) Show Cars, not Kustoms. Here are some new ones. Pictures please. But these look like "hot rods" or even "race cars", if maybe a little "Zingerish" or "Switcherish. What really differentiates a "show car" from a "kustom" ? And, my answer is: "none". Never did care for most of those garish, overdone art pieces, not even as a kid. Everyone has their own taste in art forms. (edited- now I can see the first car in total.) sjordan2 Posted October 3, 2014 Posted October 3, 2014 1995 Chrysler Atlantic tribute to 1938 Bugatti 57SC Atlantic. 1999 Dodge Charger -- even though it's 4 doors, this is the Charger that should have been. Very Viperish and still looks good.
JunkPile Posted October 3, 2014 Posted October 3, 2014 Yes, I am guilty of liking form-over-function at times. Lov'n them show rods

Ace-Garageguy Posted October 3, 2014 Posted October 3, 2014 (edited) First one that always jumps to my mind is the 1953 Ghia / Chrysler Coupe D'Elegance (a refinement of the '51 K-310 concept), to which the '98 Chrysler Chronos pays homage. Edited October 3, 2014 by Ace-Garageguy
Ace-Garageguy Posted October 3, 2014 Posted October 3, 2014 Maserati's 2005 Birdcage concept does it for me, too...
chunkypeanutbutter Posted October 3, 2014 Posted October 3, 2014 The manta ray and uncertain are at the top of my list. Also, I always liked this one. Must be the dragster profile. I loves me some Orbitron.
Ace-Garageguy Posted October 3, 2014 Posted October 3, 2014 (edited) Some of Luigi Colani's designs, because they're completely over-the-top... Edited October 3, 2014 by Ace-Garageguy
unclescott58 Posted October 3, 2014 Posted October 3, 2014 My two are still Lincoln's Futura and GM's Firebird III. I also like the Alexander Brothers' Dodge Deora. Scott
Snake45 Posted October 3, 2014 Posted October 3, 2014 I thought of one I really liked--Alexander Brothers '66 Barracuda. I'm gonna build a model "inspired by" this one someday. This board won't let me hot-link the image (I tried) but you can see it here: http://www.forabodiesonly.com/mopar/attachment.php?attachmentid=64420&stc=1&d=1236048070

jbwelda Posted October 4, 2014 Posted October 4, 2014 kinda like it: but I am a lot more partial to the old skool customs like the Ala Kart, Manta Ray, Wild T than much I have seen in the past decade or so. but I do have to say that Maserati is pretty fantastic too. jb
